This study aims to investigate the influence of a specialized one-month dietary program on the academic performance of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The researcher utilized a pre-experimental research design for a single case. The child under study was subjected to undergo a one-month dietary therapy prepared by a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN). This approach was designed to improve the academic performance of the subject with Autism Spectrum Disorder. According to Campbell and Stanley (1963), the one-shot case study under the pre-experimental design was subsequently assumed to cause change. This casually observed the inferences of the subject based on the expectations that occurred. This was believed to be useful for making comparisons on growth, development and outcomes that were made with similar precisions by the subject of the study. For this type of design, there was no control or comparison group. This design was utilized in order to produce authentic and reliable data outcome by which the subject was observed from time to time.
An experiment was done before and after the implementation of the dietary program. The subject had undergone a pre experiment and after which, a program had been administered. After a month of program, a post experiment had also been done to test the further evaluation of the subject. This encouraged the researcher to concentrate on an in-depth knowledge of the subject. This also suggested that any findings of any kind had been seen and noticed by the researcher on the subject under study based on the observations of how the subject initiated growth, development and change.
