The study aims to investigate the relationship between the instructional environment and the academic achievement of Grade 6 learners in five core subjects (English, Mathematics, Science, Filipino, and Araling Panlipunan) to provide a basis for developing intervention learning worksheets.
Rationale of the Study
Planning up for our lessons, we think of designing engaging classroom instruction, using varied teaching methods and preparing elaborate instructional materials. Other than these, there are other contributing factors that support learning. Family, school, teachers, and learners themselves are also contributing factors to the learning process. These are all part of the instructional environment.
According to AIR (2019) the instructional environment is consist of “high quality instruction, peers and staff who support achievement-oriented behavior and serve as positive role models”. Instructional environments are comprised of different, between related features that can either bolster or hinder learning.
Parental involvement impacts student academics. The more parental contribution, the more learners are probably going to become gainful citizenry just as exceed expectations in their performance in school (Cole, 2017).
Bucholz & Sheffler (as cited by Young, 2019) states that classroom environment (school) is one of the most significant variables influencing learner’s learning wherein they can feel a feeling of having a place, trust others, and feel urged to handle difficulties, face challenges, and pose inquiries.

The research examines the correlation between various instructional environment factors and the academic achievement of Grade 6 students in specific core subjects within the South District 1, Cebu City, Philippines.
The study evaluates English, Mathematics, Science, Filipino, and Araling Panlipunan.
The primary goal is to assess how factors such as teacher attributes, family support, school environment, and the learners' own habits affect academic performance, ultimately to create specialized learning worksheets.
The researcher used a descriptive method supplemented by documentary analysis to assess achievement profiles and correlate them with environmental factors.
It encompasses high-quality instruction, peer interactions, teacher competence, and institutional conditions, all of which are found to significantly influence student motivation and performance.
The study found that the mean performance of the students in the core subjects was generally interpreted as "Low Mastery," falling below the Department of Education's 75% performance standard.
Parental involvement is identified as a critical determinant of student success; higher involvement generally correlates with better academic self-concepts and test scores.
Mathematics is noted as being among the least favorite subjects due to the intellectual effort and imaginative activity it requires; the study provides specific worksheets to help address these mastery gaps.
