Was wir über unsere Gesellschaftja über die Welt, in der wir leben, wissen, wissen wir durch die Massenmedien.1 Ohne Massenmedien würde niemand wissen, was sozial, politisch und elementar-kulturell [...] >normal< ist und was nicht, was mehr >normal< ist und was weniger und was »nun aber wirklich ganz und gar nicht mehr normal« ist.2
Im Sommer dieses Jahres sorgte eine Antidiskriminierungskampagne der spanischen Regierung für Aufsehen. Unter dem Motto „Der Sommer gehört auch uns“ veröffentlichte sie auf der Social-Media Plattform „Twitter“ ein Foto, auf dem sich drei übergewichtigejunge Frauen im Bikini sowie eine grauhaarige Frau, der infolge einer Krebserkrankung eine Brust entfernt wurde, in unbekleidetem Zustand am Strand vergnügten. Ziel der Kampagne war es, dem gegenwärtigen Online-Körperkult von Frauen entgegenzuwirken, um die Gesellschaft gegen Diskriminierung und für mehr Selbstbewusstsein zu sensibilisieren. Die Kampagne stieß aber nicht nur auf Zuspruch. So äußerte sich Angela Rodriguez Pam, Sekretärin für Gleichberechtigung der spanischen Regierung: „Wir müssen Hass in Kauf nehmen, weil wir Körper zeigen, die nicht den Normen entsprechen“.3 Beispielhaft illustriert diese Kampagne die Tatsache, dass in unserer Gesellschaft eine deutliche Unterscheidung von ,normalen‘ und ,anormalen‘ beziehungsweise ,nicht-normalen‘ Menschen vollzogen wird. ,Normal‘ scheint demnach eine Frau zu sein, die einen gewissen Bodymaß-Index nicht überschreitet und die, wie der überwiegende Teil der weiblichen Gesamtbevölkerung, zwei Brüste besitzt. Doch wie wird festgelegt, wer der ,Normalität‘ entspricht und wer aus dem Spektrum des Normalen herausfällt?
Bei ,Norm‘, ,Normalität‘ und ,Abweichung‘ handelt es sich um Begriffe, die in unserem Alltag und auch im wissenschaftlichen Diskurs häufig und in verschiedenen Bedeutungen vorkommen. Sie sind als ,konstruierte‘ Produkte historischer, sozialer und politischer Prozesse zu verstehen, die nie definitiv bestimmt werden können.4 Matthias Thiele schlägt daher vor, den Begriff ,Normalität‘ möglichst eng zu definieren und bezeichnet ihn „als Gesamtheit aller sowohl diskursiven als auch praktisch-intervenierenden Verfahren, Dispositive, Instanzen und Institutionen, durch die in modernen Gesellschaften >Normalitätenc produziert und reproduziert werden.“5 In seinem „Versuch über den Normalismus“ (1996)6 hat es sich der Literaturwissenschaftler Jürgen Link zur Aufgabe gemacht, den ,Archipel‘ des Normalismus zu erkunden, indem er die vielfältigen Wissensbestände seiner Zeit aufgearbeitet und eine umfangreiche fachübergreifende Studie veröffentlicht hat.7 Link zufolge setzt die Kategorie der ,Normalität‘ statistische Dispositive voraus und wird in Bezug auf ,Durchschnitte‘ definiert. Er bezeichnet die Gesellschaft, in der wir leben, als ,flexibel-normalistisch‘, was bedeutet, dass sich ,Normalität‘ in einer breiten, akzeptablen Toleranzzone innerhalb einer symbolisch gedachten Kurvenlandschaft in einer ,Mitte‘ als Spannbreite möglicher Positionen situiert. Was außerhalb der Toleranzzone, an denjeweiligen ,Extremen‘ der Kurven positioniert ist, bezeichnet er als .Anormalitäten’. Dabei ist es Individuen möglich in ihrer ,Lebensfahrt‘ flexibel von der Normalität in die Anormalität zu gleiten und umgekehrt. Bis heute erhält Links Abhandlung große interdisziplinäre Anerkennung und wird seit 1996 immer wieder als Grundmodell normalistischen Denkens begriffen. Sie spielt für die Literatur- und Medienwissenschaften eine prägnante Rolle, da ein Großteil der Literatur ab 1885 sowie Kinofilme und gegenwärtige Fernsehformate nor- malistisch funktionieren.8 Vor allem fiktionale Erzählungen wie die des Spielfilms stellen Rolf Parr zufolge als eine Art von ,Normalitätstest‘ die Möglichkeit bereit, Normalitätskonzepte zu durchbrechen, indem sie das Normalitätsspektrum und mit ihm die Grenzen zwischen ,normal‘ und ,anormal‘ verschieben.9
Um die normalistische Funktionsweise von Medien zu überprüfen, werden in vorliegender Arbeit zwei amerikanische Spielfilme aus dem Genre des Dramas auf der Ebene der Narration hinsichtlich der Strategie des flexiblen Normalismus untersucht. Es handelt sich dabei um die Filme: „Blind Side - Die große Chance“ (2OO9)10 und „Wunder“ (2017)11. Sie wurden für die Untersuchung ausgewählt, da Kulturfabriken wie Hollywood globale Normalitäten simulieren, indem sie Individuen aller Normalitätsklassen gleichermaßen in ihre Darbietungen einbeziehen.12 13 Die Ausgangsfrage der Analysen lautet: Wie werden Normalität und Abweichung im amerikanischen Spielfilm inszeniert und verhandelt? Dies geschieht mit dem Ziel, Aufschluss darüber zu erlangen, inwiefern sich Spielfilme mit gesellschaftlichen Diskussionen über (A- )Normalitäten auseinandersetzen. Zu Beginn der Arbeit werden Links wichtigste Thesen zum Normalismus vorgestellt. Daran anknüpfend wird dargelegt, inwiefern Medien als ,Normali- sierungsagenturen[4] funktionieren. Für diesen Aspekt gilt es insbesondere die Arbeiten von Parr zu berücksichtigen. Er hat im Anschluss an Link als Mitbegründer der Interdiskurstheorie den Versuch unternommen, dessen Normalitätstheorie auf neue Felder in den Medien anzuwenden und weiterzuentwickeln.14 Beide hier analysierten Filme behandeln als Ausgangslage solche Anormalitäten, die zu Entgrenzungen der Protagonisten in der Gesellschaft führen, wobei sie Entwicklungen durchleben, die diesen Status aufheben. In „Blind Side“ erfährt Michael Oher aufgrund seiner ethnologischen und sozialen Herkunft Ablehnung durch die Gesellschaft, welche ihn als ,abweichend‘ klassifiziert und entgrenzt. In dem Film „Wunder“ befindet sich August Pullman in einer ähnlichen Situation. Er leidet an einer seltenen Gesichtsdeformation, durch die er Diskriminierungen auf unterschiedlichster Weise ausgesetzt ist. Zunächst werden die Ausgangslagen der Protagonisten untersucht, um festzustellen, in welchen spezifischen Situationen Normalisierungsbedarf entsteht und welche Normalitätsgrenzen dabei ins Spiel kommen. Daran anschließend wird der Prozess der ,Selbstnormalisierung‘ aufgezeigt, wobei die im Film inszenierte ,Mitte‘ sowie die ,kurvenreichen Fahrten[4], die die Subjekte durchleben, herausgearbeitet werden. Dabei werden sowohl der zeitliche Verlauf, in denen die Veränderungsprozesse vonstatten gehen als auch die Wirkungen, die die Normalitätsverhandlungen auf den Filmzuschauer ausüben, berücksichtigt. Am Ende der Studie wird versucht, einen Bezug der
Filme zur Realität herzustellen. Denn Knuth Hickethier ist sich sicher, dass die je konkreten, uns bewegenden Geschichten allgemeine Erkenntnisse über die Welt liefern.15 16
Link bezeichnet den Begriff der ,Normalität‘ als eine historische Neuerscheinung, die im 18. Jahrhundert in der westlichen Moderne zur ,Normativität‘ dazugekommen ist, wobei Kopplungen und Konflikte beider Regelungsweisen nicht ausgeschlossen werden können. Unter Normativität versteht der Literaturwissenschaftler eine binäre Erfüllungsform von Einzelfällen, die sich auf ethischejuristische oder rechtsanaloge Regeln bezieht und in allen uns bekannten Gesellschaften schon immer existierte. Normalität hingegen beschreibt Link als ein massenhaftes, nur mit statistischer Verdatung zu beschreibendes Phänomen, das sich auf Durchschnitte, Sprei- zungenundNormalspektren, aus denen sich ,Akzeptanz‘, ,Sicherheit‘ und ,Stabilität‘ ableiten lassen, bezieht.17 Ob ein Handeln ,normativ‘ gültig sein wird, ist Link zufolge von Anfang an bekannt, dagegen sei erst nachträglich feststellbar, dass es ,normal‘ war.18
Die Grundlage von Links Normalismustheorie stellt das von Francis Galton entwickelte ,Gal- ton-Brett‘ dar, ein Apparat, der die Entstehung einer annähernden Normalverteilung in einer Masse homogener Einheiten simuliert. Er schleuste auf einem Brett eine Menge von Einzelkügelchen stochastisch durch eine Reihe von Nagelreihen wie durch ein Sieb. Galton stellte dabei fest, dass die Kügelchen mit jeweils gleicher Wahrscheinlichkeit nach rechts oder nach links geleitet werden, wodurch sie normalverteilt landen. Link entwarf in Anlehnung an das ,Galton- Brett‘ ein eigenes ,Galton-Sieb‘, das an Galtons Idee anschließt. Für ihn war der Weg der Kügelchen durch das Sieb statistisch betrachtet uninteressant. Da er sich diese aber auf elementarkultureller Ebene kollektivsymbolisch19 als menschliche Individuen vorstellte, beschäftigte er sich mit dem Zusammenhang der produzierten Verteilungen, um ihre Subjektaffekte zu untersuchen.20 Link entwickelte das Modell der formalistischen Kurvenlandschaft[4], das aus zwei Basiskurven besteht. Die erste stellt die Kurve der normalen Entwicklung (Normalwachstum) in der Zeit dar und die zweite die der Normalverteilung im Raum, welche sich zwischen zwei Extremen in einer Mittelzone, dem ,Normalspektrum‘ (normal range) befindet. In der Mittelzone des Normalspektrums befinden sich verschiedene Durchschnitte.21 Diese sind durch bestimmte Zahlenwerte auf einer kontinuierlichen Skala miteinander verbunden, wodurch sie sich in verschiedene Grade der Normalität unterscheiden lassen. Link stellt die formalistische Basiskurve[4] in Form einer Glockenkurve (Gauß’sche Normalverteilung) dar. Je mehr etwas vom Durchschnitt und den Toleranzzonen der normalistischen Basiskurve abweicht, desto wahrscheinlicher treten Anormalitäten ein.22 23

Das Kriterium der Homogenität einer Spezialität gilt Link zufolge als Voraussetzung der Vergleichbarkeit von Individuen. Zwischen der Kontinuität einer Kurve und der symbolischen Diskontinuität herrscht eine extreme Spannung, wodurch zwei Teilpopulationen entstehen: die ,Normalen‘ und die ,Anormalen‘.24 Eine Unterbrechung des Kontinuums wird als Symptom von ,Denormalisierung‘ - dem Verlust der Normalität - gedeutet, wodurch Handlungsbedarf initiiert wird.25 Normalitätsgrenzen können ständig verschoben werden.26 So kann gemäß Cornelia Bohn das, was heute als Abweichung gilt, morgen bereits Normalität werden.27 Link begreift das Modell der normalistischen Kurvenlandschaft zusammenfassend als:
geschlossene[n] Zyklus: Durchschnitte von Massen favorisieren Themen und Kurven, die dann wieder bei der Datenselektion favorisiert werden usw. Die wesentliche Funktion der so fabrizierten Kurvenlandschaft dient zur Orientierung der Subjekte, zu ihrer Selbsteinordnung in die Kurven, zu ihrer Identifikation oder Gegenidentifikation mit Positionen, von ihrer Warnung vor Normalitätsgrenzen und Denormalisierungen und vor allem zu ihrer »Motivation« ihre Position zu ändern.28
Der Literaturwissenschaftler entwickelte zwei Strategien, die es Individuen ermöglicht, sich innerhalb normalistischer Kurvenlandschaften zu orientieren. Sie zeichnen sich durch ein eher ,engeres‘ und eher ,breiteres‘ Profil derNormalverteilung aus: der ,Protonormalismus‘ und der ,flexible Normalismus‘.29 Während etwa der Protonormalismus, der faktisch die ersten eineinhalb Jahrhunderte den Normalismus dominierte, sein Normalitätsspektrum durch nur sehr schmale Grenzen schützt und somit breitere Zonen der Anormalität zulässt, versucht der flexible Normalismus den abschreckenden Charakter fixer Normalitätsgrenzen zu verringern.30 Die Kategorie der Normalität wurde Link zufolge ab der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts in den USA und nach 1945 in allen okzidentalen Kulturen31 von ,fest‘ zu ,flüchtig‘.32 Der flexible Normalismus erfordert Subjekte, die eine Kompetenz zur ,Selbst-Normalisierung‘ entwickeln.33 Er zeichnet sich durch ein breites Normalitätsspektrum aus, wodurch der Bereich der Anormalität möglichst gering gehalten wird. Somit können etwa Teilpopulationen, die im Protonormalismus als ,anormal‘ stigmatisiert werden, wie zum Beispiel sexuelle Minderheiten oder Menschen mit Behinderungen integriert und inkludiert werden.34 Der flexible Normalismus ist für möglichst kurze Zeiträume festgelegt,35 sodass Link zufolge „die flexibel-normalis- tische Konstituierung eines Individuums als »anormal« kein lebenslang fixes Stigma [ist], sondern prinzipiell reversibel“.36 Link begreift die Kurvenlandschaft als ,äußeren Bildschirm[4], auf dem die Subjekte des Normalismus ständig blicken und von dem aus sie durch Selektion persönliche Ausschnitte internalisieren. Dadurch kommt es zur Entwicklung eines ,inneren Bildschirms[4], um ein ,normales‘ Leben führen zu können, wodurch ein ,normales‘ Wir-Kon- sens entsteht.37

Die Erweiterung von Spielräumen durch die flexibel-normalistische Strategie kannjedoch auch an Grenzen stoßen. So ruft die soziale Zuschreibung einer Überschreitung dieser Stigmatisierungen Angst hervor. Herbert Willems zufolge erhält die Abweichung dann die Qualität eines Zeichens, das diskriminierend identifiziert und in einer bestimmten disqualifizierenden Weise Sinn transformiert. Er führt als Beispiel Äußerlichkeiten oder Charakterfehler von Subjekten auf, sodass bestimmte Klassen von Anormalitäten als diskreditierend gelten.39 Was und ob etwas als Stigma gilt, ist aber nicht allgemeingültig festgelegt. Die Gestalt und die Semantik der Stigmata hängt von kulturellen (Sinn-)Kontexten ab, die Identitätsmodelle und Identitätsnormen als Maßstäbe von Spielräumen und Abweichungen implizieren.40 Willems hält fest, dass:
die Leitidee des Normalismus - die Durchschnittlichkeit [...] unnormal und eher eine Fiktion [ist], die in verschiedenen Ausformungen (Durchschnittswerten) Toleranzspielräume und damit Toleranzgrenzen definiert. Man gehört dazu, insofern man nicht zu weit um diesen Durchschnittswert streut. Aber: weil niemandjemals tatsächlich Durchschnitt ist - Otto Normalverbraucher ist eben eine statistische Durchschnittsgröße und keine Person - ist niemandjemals vollständig normal.41
Einen Orientierungsrahmen der normalistischen Kurvenlandschaft stellen die Massenmedien bereit,42 die Link als ein Instrument erkennt, das die statistischen Daten und Kurven kollektivsymbolisch codiert, mit dem Ziel, sie in Subjektivitäten zu übersetzen.43 Die Einordnung in Normalitätsklassen erfolgt dabei durch stereotype Kategorisierungen und Symbole, die den flexiblen Normalismus mit einschließt. Diese meinen beispielsweise die Akzeptanz von Menschen mit dunkler Hautfarbe, homosexuelle Minderheiten, Menschen mit Behinderungen und andere ,Normal-Abweichler‘.44 Hickethier bezeichnet die Medien als ,Normalisierungsagenturen‘,45 die Lutz Ellrich zufolge aufgrund dessen funktionieren, dass Rezipienten gewollt sind, sie als solche wahrzunehmen.46 Denn dem Mediennutzer wird folgende Formel bereitgestellt: „Nimm zu den medial präsentierten Daten Stellung, entscheide Dich, beziehe im Feld der medialen Angaben eine Position.“47 Parr unterscheidet zwischen zwei normalistischen Verhaltensweisen. Zum einen können Individuen sich durch die Medien der eigenen Normalität rückversichern, „denn nichts bietet solche Sicherheit und solchen Schutz, wie normal zu sein“.48 Link definiert die Medien deshalb als normalistische ,Frühwamsysteme‘.49 Der Zuschauer, so führt Hickethier aus, ist sich über die Distanz zwischen dem dargestellten Geschehen und der eigenen Lebenswelt bewusst und erkennt die Medien auch als ,Frühwamsysteme‘, die die Gesellschaft im Zuge von Ereignissen über Gefährdungen, Bedrohungen und Beunruhigungen informieren sollen.50 Aus diesem Grund ist sich Alois Hahn sicher, dass:
Aufsehen [nur das] erregt[...], was aus der Normalität herausfällt. Nicht der brave Mann, sondern der Verbrecher, nicht die pünktliche Fahrt der Bahn, sondern der spektakuläre Unfall [...] produziert die öffentliche Aufmerksamkeit. Aber das, was für den Einzelnen und seinen Alltag die extreme Ausnahme ist, stellt für die Medien die Normalität dar. Für den Leser oder Fernsehzuschauer gilt entsprechend, daß er es »normal« findet, daß ihm die Medien »Anormales« servieren. Nur im Ausnahmefall wäre er bereit zu akzeptieren, daß sie ihm anderes als Ausnahmen servieren würden.51
Hickethier führt weiter aus, dass es in den Medien zu einer symbolhaften Verdichtung allgemeiner Gefährdungen kommt, um aufNormalisierungsbedarfhinzuweisen. So [erregt] die Ermordung eines kleinen Mädchens im eigenen Kinderzimmer in Bayern [...] das Publikum als Beispiel dafür, daß esjedes kleine Mädchenjajeden Menschen in seinen eigenen vier Wänden treffen kann. [...] Das Individuelle muß also etwas Allgemeines enthalten, weil die gesellschaftlichen Frühwarnsysteme vor allem an die Risiken interessiert sind, diejeden treffen könnten.52
Gleichzeitig laufen Rezipienten durch mediale Inszenierungen der Gefahr entgegen, Fälschungen nicht zu erkennen.53 Neben der Rückversicherung an Normalität scheint Parr zufolge nichts so langweilig zu sein, wie mormalc zu sein, weshalb Rezipienten in den ihnen dargebotenen Darstellungen Normalitätsgrenzen austesten oder versuchen können, bestehende Grenzen weiter zu verschieben: „Das bringt Spaß und ist aufregend, aber ist auch nicht ungefährlich, weil man zugleich Gefahr läuft, als nicht-normal ausgegrenzt zu werden.“54 Jedoch liegt es Ellrich zufolge „in [der Betrachters] freien Entscheidung, was er oder sie aus den Medienangeboten machen, wie zwischen den unterschiedlichen Offerten abgewogen und welche Bedeutung insbesondere den auffälligen Daten über das Durchschnittsverhalten gegeben wird."55
Ursula Kreft zeigt auf, dass in den Medien auf verschiedenste Weisen ein elementares sozioökonomisches Wissen geschaffen wird: durch die Form von Narrationen (kürzere oder längere Geschichten), durch dramenartige Episoden, Biografien oder Exempel, durch bildhafte Elemente (darunter Kollektivsymbolik) und statistischen Daten, die als symbolische Kurven erscheinen und häufig in Erzählungen integriert sind. Dadurch können dann statistische Daten jenseits der Wissenschaften zu narrativen Elementen werden.56 Als komplexe Beobachtungssysteme der Gesellschaft kommt es in den Medien zu einer Thematisierung von Lebensrisiken und den Formen ihrer Bewältigung, indem sie diese von den Figuren ihrer Geschichten erleben lassen.57 Für das Medium Film definiert Link zwei Typen der Narration. Der erste Typ stellt eine (Lebens-) Fahrt dar, die durch Normalitätsabweichungen irritiert wird, wobei die Figuren am Endejedoch wieder in die Normalität zurückgelangen. Den zweiten Typen beschreibt er als einen, der eher surrealistische Geschichten liefert, die sich immer nur noch überbieten können, ohne dass es dabei um die Gewinnung transnormalistischer Möglichkeiten gehen müsste.58 In Links Umgang mit diesen Typen wird deutlich, dass er sich in seinen Arbeiten bevorzugt auf den ersten konzentriert. Denn es sind die Randzonen mit ihren dort verorteten Verhaltensweisen, Psychen und Körpern, die Kreft zufolge als Quelle ständiger Irritationen fungieren, die zugleich attraktiv und anziehend wirken können.59 Das narrative Schema (nicht-) normaler Fahrten beschreibt Link als Faszinationstyp, das in der Normalität beginnt, sich von diesem Ausgangspunkt entfernt, örtlich und zeitlich durch Parcours bestimmt ist, wobei die ,Normal- Monade‘ ununterbrochen versucht, sich der nie ganz gestillten Normalisierungsangst zu versichern.60 Kreft führt weiter aus:
Die Akteure solcher Narrationen erleben allmähliche und rasante Aufstiege, rasante Abstürze und gefährliche Fahrten in Grenzbereiche des sozialen Lebens, quer durch eine Landschaft, die meist als sehr durchlässiges soziales Kontinuum mit gleitenden Übergängen erscheint. Die Medien produzieren dabei die Regeln, nach denen sich soziale Subjekte bewegen können - wie zum Beispiel ein >Aufstieg zum Gipfel< optimal gelingt, wann ein tiefer Fall mach ganz untern unvermeidbar eintritt.61
Angelehnt an Links Unterscheidung narrativer Erzähltypen stellt Parr insgesamt vier Konzepte normalistischen Erzählens in Literatur und Film auf, die auf Basis des Galtonischen Nagelbretts und der mit ihm mehr oder weniger genau simulierten Gaußschen Normalverteilung dort vorzufinden sind. Als erstes Konzept führt er die Erzählung des (Lebens-)Weges eines einzelnen Protagonisten-Kügelchens auf, wobei dessen individuelle De- und Renormalisierungsbewegungen sowie deren Besetzung mit (Angst-) Lust im Vordergrund stehen. Seine Lebensfahrt wird mit der der anderen Kügelchen nur punktuell verbunden. Dies kann beispielsweise durch eine enge thematische Verkopplung aktuell-historischer politischer Ereignisse an die (nicht-) normale Lebensfahrt der jeweils im Mittelpunkt stehenden Figur und den stets möglichen Bezug der Fahrt der Normal-Monade auf das politische Gesamtsystem und seinem Ausnahmezustand geschehen. Des Weiteren kann eine Geschichte strukturell so erzählt werden, als würden mehrere Kügelchen nacheinander (oder als Variante gleichzeitig) in ein Sieb eingeworfen werden. Sie nehmen dann verschiedene, manchmal auch die gleichen Positionen in der Normalverteilung ein. Als drittes Konzept führt Parr die Narration eines Kügelchens auf, das mehrmals in das Sieb eingeworfen wird. Dadurch können verschiedene Positionen im Nacheinander besetzt werden, wodurch sowohl Normalisierungs- als auch ,Dropping out-Prozesse‘ als zurückgelegte Entfernungen innerhalb von ,Normal Range-Szenarien‘ und Normalverteilungen erzählt werden können. Als Letztes kann die Matrix Parr zufolge selbst thematisiert werden, sodass nur wenige konkrete Besetzungen ihrer Positionen narrativ durchgespielt werden müssen. Dadurch wird die gesamte Bandbreite der Möglichkeiten und das mit ihnen insgesamt gegebene ,Normal Range-Szenario‘ (einschließlich zugehöriger Rankinglisten) aber von vornherein mitgedacht. In allen vier Konzepten wird das Einzelschicksal als Vergleich zu weiter entfernten Positionen in den Matrizen interessant und ihre Lebensfahrten erzählenswert. Die Möglichkeit der Erzählung von Normal-Monaden erscheint dann als gesamtgesellschaftliche Systemkrise in Form eines Ausnahmezustandes.62
Parr entwickelte einige Jahre später auf Grundlage von Bordieus Feldtheorie und Links Nor- malismustheorie eine Matrix von Möglichkeiten, die den weiten Grad der Orientierung und Aneignung (flexibel) normalistischer Szenarien in Literatur und Medien veranschaulicht.63 Sie besteht aus insgesamt sieben Zonen. Die erste Zone stellt die Orientierung an der Mitte des ,Normal Range-Modells‘ dar. Als zweites Szenarium führt Parr die punktuelle Durchbrechung der Normalität nach oben hin in Form einer Übererfüllung (super-normal) auf. Des Weiteren kann es drittens auch zu einer Durchbrechung nach unten gemäß einer Untererfüllung (subnormal) kommen. Als vierte Möglichkeit nennt der Literaturwissenschaftler eine programmatische Ausdehnung bestehender Normalitätsgrenzen durch (Selbst-) Überbietung (Hypernormalität). Entgegen diesem Szenario können Literatur und Medien Normalität durch eine programmatische Unterbietung in Form negativer Hypernormalität herstellen. Auch können sie sich entgegen des flexiblen Normalismus, an protonormalistischen oder an normativen Positionen orientieren.64 Parrs 7-Zonen-Matrix kann als eine mögliche feldtheoretische Perspektivie- rung der Gegenwartsliteratur betrachtet werden.65 Link entwickelte das ,Normal RangeSchema‘, das die flexiblen Möglichkeiten zur Selbstregulierung von Subjekten in Literatur und Medien illustriert:
