This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of e-wallets as a payment system among Ilonggo e-wallet users during the COVID-19 pandemic. It utilized the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and the Theory of Effectiveness Measurement as its theoretical frameworks. The research employed a qualitative research design with a purposive sampling technique to gather data from 300 participants via online surveys.
Introduction: This chapter sets the stage for the study by providing background information on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy of Iloilo City and the increased reliance on e-wallets as a payment system. It clearly states the problem the study addresses—determining the effectiveness of e-wallets—and outlines the hypotheses to be tested. The chapter also introduces the theoretical frameworks (UTAUT and Theory of Effectiveness Measurement) that guide the research and explains the significance of the study in understanding the role of e-wallets in a pandemic context. Finally, it defines the scope and limitations of the research, outlining the parameters within which the study operates.
Methodology: This section details the research design, the selection of participants (300 Ilonggo e-wallet users via purposive sampling), the data collection methods (online survey questionnaires), and the data analysis techniques employed (mean, frequency, percentage, standard deviation, Mann Whitney U Test, and Kruskall Wallis H Test). It meticulously outlines the validity and reliability measures taken to ensure the quality and rigor of the research. Ethical considerations, including potential risks and benefits to participants and inclusion/exclusion criteria, are also addressed, demonstrating a commitment to responsible research practices.

This study investigates the effectiveness of e-wallets as a payment system among Ilonggo e-wallet users in Iloilo City during the COVID-19 pandemic. It explores the influence of factors like convenience, security, and accessibility on e-wallet usage and compares different e-wallet platforms.
The study utilizes the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and the Theory of Effectiveness Measurement as its theoretical frameworks to analyze the data and understand the adoption and usage of e-wallets.
A qualitative research design with a purposive sampling technique was used. Data was collected from 300 participants through online surveys. The data analysis involved techniques such as mean, frequency, percentage, standard deviation, Mann Whitney U Test, and Kruskall Wallis H Test.
Key themes include the effectiveness of e-wallets during the pandemic, the influence of various factors (convenience, security, etc.) on e-wallet usage, demographic characteristics of users and their usage patterns, comparison of different e-wallet platforms, and the role of e-wallets in facilitating contactless transactions.
Detailed results are presented in the "Results and Discussion" chapter. However, the study aims to determine the effectiveness of e-wallets as a payment method during the pandemic, considering various influencing factors. The specific findings would be detailed in the full report.
The conclusions and specific recommendations are presented in the "Conclusions and Recommendations" chapter. They will likely address the effectiveness of e-wallets, potential areas for improvement in the platforms or usage, and implications for policy or future research.
The report follows a standard academic structure, including an abstract, acknowledgements, introduction, methodology, results and discussion, conclusions and recommendations, references, and appendices. A detailed table of contents is provided, outlining the specific sub-sections within each chapter.
Key words include: e-Wallet, Pandemic, Contactless Transactions, Convenience, e-Commerce, Iloilo City, COVID-19, UTAUT, Theory of Effectiveness Measurement, Qualitative Research, Online Payment Systems.
The study included 300 Ilonggo e-wallet users who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Further details on participant demographics might be available in the full study.
The study aims to contribute to the understanding of e-wallet usage during a pandemic, providing insights into consumer behavior and the role of technology in facilitating contactless transactions. This has implications for businesses, policymakers, and further research in the field.
