It is an informal microfinance activity where a group (15-30 people) mobilizes their own savings to provide small loans with interest to its members, distributing all assets at the end of a cycle.
Conventional microfinance often fails to reach remote rural areas. Delivery channels (like NGOs) are assessed for their efficacy in reaching the very poor and providing accessible financial services.
The study assessed how satisfied members in the Nkhata Bay district were with the service delivery approach, focusing on accessibility and the impact on their daily lives.
