Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Entwicklung und Wirksamkeitsüberprüfung eines Escape Rooms mit Bildungsabsicht, um Lerninhalte spielerisch mit dem Potential der Kompetenzentwicklung zu vermitteln.
Das Ziel ist es zu beantworten, welche Vorteile die Unterrichtsmethode Escape Room gegenüber der Unterrichtsmethode Frontalunterricht im Hinblick auf den Kompetenzerwerb im Allgemeinen und im speziellen Bereich der Interaktionskompetenz hat. Ebenso wird nach Unterscheidungsmerkmalen der Handlung Wärmeerhalt zwischen den beiden Unterrichtsmethoden geschaut. Abschließend sollen Erkenntnisse für weitere Unterrichtsgestaltungen für die Methode Escape Room herangezogen werden.
Die Grundlage dazu beruht auf einer Stichprobe aus 36 Personen mit dem Unterrichtsthema Verbrennung. Bei den ProbandInnen handelte es sich um angehende NotfallsanitäterInnen im letzten Schulblock des dritten Ausbildungsjahres. Die 36 SchülerInnen kamen aus zwei Klassen und wurden in einem randomisierten Verfahren in eine Gruppe Frontalunterricht und eine Gruppe Escape Room aufgeteilt. Die Gruppe Frontalunterricht mit 16 SchülerInnen wurde nach der Regelunterrichtszeit von 8 bis 15.30 Uhr im Rahmen eines Frontalunterrichtes zum Thema Verbrennungen unterrichtet. Die Gruppe Escape Room mit 20 SchülerInnen, welche zuvor in weitere Untergruppen zu je fünf Personen aufgeteilt worden war, rätselte am gleichen Tag an einem aufgebauten Escape Room zum identischen Thema. Jede Subgruppe Escape Room hatte einen Zeitansatz von 90 Minuten.
Am nächsten Tag erfolgte ein Fallszenario. Die Gruppen Escape Room sowie die Gruppen Frontalunterricht wurden ihrer Unterrichtsmethode entsprechend, aber in Untergruppen randomisiert zu vier Personen aufgeteilt. Alle Fallszenarien wurden mit Videokameras aufgezeichnet. Ebenso beurteilten BeobachterInnen über einen standardisierten Beobachtungsbogens die Fachkompetenz. Das Videomaterial wurde im Anschluss anhand einer qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse im Bereich der Interaktionskompetenz ausgewertet.
Die Ergebnisse in der Auswertung der Fachkompetenz ergeben kaum Unterschiede in den Gruppen. Im Bereich der Interaktionskompetenz zeigen sich Vorteile der Gruppen Escape Room gegenüber der Gruppen Frontalunterricht. Beim Wärmeerhalt ließ sich ein zeitlicher und quantitativer Vorteil der Gruppen Escape Room beobachten.
Der Escape Room bietet viele Möglichkeiten im Einsatz. Trotzdem kann man diesen aufgrund der durchaus hohen Vorbereitungszeit nicht in einer Regelmäßigkeit anbieten. Weiter ist es wie in vielen Bereichen der Pädagogik und der Methodenvielfalt sinnvoll eine Methode nicht inflationär anzubieten, um den Reiz und die gewisse Besonderheit zum Tagesgeschäft zu erzeugen.

Die Grundlage dieser Arbeit ruht auf einer Exkursion einer Klasse von angehenden NotfallsanitäterInnen (NFS). Diese fand im Sommer des Jahres 2021 statt, sie ging nach München und erstreckte sich über vier Tage. Am ersten Tag war ein Escape Room (ER) gebucht. Die Klasse mit 18 Schülerinnen und Schülern (SuS) hatte nach diesem Ereignis kaum mehr ein anderes Gesprächsthema als den ER. Aus diesem Grund reifte die Idee einen ER im Unterrichtsformat anzubieten. Dies wurde im nächsten Schulblock am Ende des Jahres umgesetzt. Das Thema war Reanimation eines Erwachsenen mit einem entstehenden Spontankreislauf. Auch hier war die Resonanz sehr gut. Die SuS gaben durchweg eine positive Rückmeldung und waren in der Umsetzung und in den Nachgesprächen sehr motiviert und engagiert.
Nun stellte sich nach diesen positiven Erfahrungen mit dem Thema ER die Frage, was inhaltlich tatsächlich transferiert wird und ob und welche Kompetenzen bei den SuS verbessert werden. Um dies zu klären, waren die ersten Aufgaben eine wissenschaftsorientierte Auseinandersetzung mit den Grundlagen zum Kompetenzbegriff und Kompetenz als Begriff und Konstrukt zu definieren. In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden die Kompetenzen in der NFS-Ausbildung genauer definiert und dargestellt. Die Sozialkompetenz wird nochmals in die Interaktionskompetenz aufgeteilt und es wird der Versuch unternommen den komplexen Begriff der Sozialkompetenz für die Forschungsfragen klar darzustellen und messbarer zu machen. Anschließend wird das Kapitel rund um die Kompetenzen mit einem Einblick in die aktuelle Diskussion zum Thema kompetenzorientierter Unterricht abgeschlossen.
Das weiterführende Kapitel ist die Annäherung an didaktische und methodische Konzepte, in welche der ER zugeordnet wird. Der erste Zugang erfolgt über die Lerntheorien, bei der die konstruktivistische Lerntheorie die meisten Gemeinsamkeiten mit der Methode ER aufweist. Der didaktische Bezug wird über die Ermöglichungsdidaktik geschaffen, da diese im Bereich der Erwachsenenpädagogik den stärksten Bezug aufweist. Die methodische Verknüpfung folgt über das problemorientierte Lernen, denn hier scheint die Überschneidung mehr als treffend, da ein ER voll mit Problemen in Form von Rätseln ist und die Rätsel einen hindern an das Ziel zu gelangen. Die weitere methodische Annäherung findet sich im Bereich Gamifizierung im Lernumfeld. Serious Games (SG), Game based Learning und Gamification sind Methoden, die in den Klassenzimmern immer häufiger eingesetzt werden. Sie bieten die Grundlage für das Ziel einer Wissensvermittlung mit klar definierten Lernzielen in einer Umgebung, die die Neugier, das spielerische Verlangen und die Leichtigkeit des Lernens vermitteln soll. Hier ruht die Idee des methodischen Einsatzes eines ERs in der Ausbildung von NFS. Der theoretische Teil dieser Arbeit schließt mit dem aktuellen Forschungsstand zur Gamifizierung und der Methode ER im Unterrichtssetting.
Im weiteren Teil der Arbeit wird das Vorgehen der Unterrichtsplanung und Vorbereitung für die Umsetzung des ERs beschrieben. Es wurde als Vergleichsgruppe die Methode Frontalunterricht gewählt. Diese Methode ist eine der bekanntesten im deutschen Schulsystem und allen SuS ein Begriff. Die Auswahl der Lerninhalte erfolgte für beide Methoden über eine Liste aus dem Lernzielkatalog (Kann-Liste) der Landesschule, Deutsches Rotes Kreuz, Baden-Württemberg (BW) mit dem Hauptthema Verbrennungen und Verbrühungen. Für die Planung und Umsetzung waren die beiden Klassenleitungen der beteiligten Klassen verantwortlich. Beide Klassen befanden sich zum Zeitpunkt der Umsetzung im letzten Schulblock des dritten Lehrjahrs. Die TeilnehmerInnen für die zwei Unterrichtsmethoden wurden mithilfe eines Zufallsgenerators randomisiert eingeteilt. Nach Abschluss des Schultages erfolgte am darauffolgenden Tag ein Fallszenario, welches in einem Team von jeweils vier SuS abgearbeitet wurde. Insgesamt umfasste die Stichprobe 32 ProbandInnen, von denen vier Teams aus der Methode Frontalunterricht (FU) kamen und weitere vier Teams am Vortag die Unterrichtsmethode ER durchschritten hatten. Das Ziel des Fallszenarios war es über einen standardisierten Bewertungsbogen die Fachkompetenz der einzelnen TeilnehmerInnen über jeweils vier BeobachterInnen zu ermitteln und mit zwei Videokameras in der Form der Beobachtung Daten für eine qualitative Analyse der Interaktionskompetenz zu erlangen. Diese Daten wurden transkribiert und nach der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse von Kuckartz und Rädiker ausgewertet. Im Ergebnisteil werden die Fachkompetenz und die Interaktionskompetenz der zwei Gruppen FU und ER gegenübergestellt und die folgenden Forschungsfragen beantwortet.
Die vorliegende Arbeit soll unten dargestellte Forschungsfragen beantworten.
1. Welche Vorteile, im Hinblick auf den Kompetenzerwerb, bietet die Unterrichtsmethode „Escape Room“ im Allgemeinen gegenüber der Unterrichtsmethode „Frontalunterricht“?
2. Haben die SuS aus der Unterrichtsmethode „Escape Room“, im speziellen Bereich der Interaktionskompetenz in einem Fallszenario mit dem unerwarteten Ereignis eines Spannungspneumothorax mit Entlastungspunktion, einen Vorteil gegenüber den SuS aus der Unterrichtsmethode Frontalunterricht?
3. Gibt es in den Gruppen „Escape Room“ und „Frontalunterricht“ Unterscheidungsmerkmale in der Handlung Wärmeerhalt?
4. Welche Erkenntnisse können infolge des Experimentes für eine Unterrichtsgestaltung nach der Methode „Escape Room“ herangezogen werden?
Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist die Methode ER als ernsthafte Unterrichtsmethode in den Fokus zu nehmen, die in entsprechenden Themenbereichen eine Ergänzung oder sogar Alternative zu anderen Unterrichtsmethoden darstellen kann. In diesem Kontext wird auf das einleitende Zitat verwiesen, dass sich das Spielen auf eine Ernsthaftigkeit mit sinnvollen Aspekten bezieht.
Das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (2022, ohne Seite [o.S.]) hat das Instrument Deutscher Qualifikationsrahmen (DQR) für die Einordnung von Qualifikationen im deutschen Bildungssystem entwickelt. Im DQR ist der Kompetenzbegriff in der Wichtigkeit deutlich hervorgehoben. Das zentrale Ziel des deutschen Bildungssystems ist der Erwerb von Handlungsfähigkeit und nicht der einzelnen Übermittlung von Kenntnissen und Fertigkeiten. Weiter wird nochmal erwähnt, dass die Kompetenz das Ergebnis eines Lernprozesses ist, der im Alltag nachwirken soll (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, 2022, o.S).
Kompetenz setzt Wissen voraus und sollte deshalb nicht Wissen in der Begrifflichkeit gleichgestellt werden. Zur Kompetenz gehören die Bereiche Fertigkeiten, Fähigkeiten und Motivation. Somit ist Kompetenz im Verhältnis zum Begriff Wissen höher zu bewerten (Wild & Möller, 2020, S. 79-80).
Frey (2004, S. 904) definiert den Kompetenzbegriff folgendermaßen: „Besitzt eine Person Kompetenz, so kann sie etwas, ist handlungsfähig und übernimmt für sich und andere Verantwortung.“
Kompetenzen können als lückenlose Merkmale angesehen werden, welche in der Wahrnehmung, der daraus folgenden Interpretation und der Entscheidungsfähigkeit aufeinander aufbauen (Blömeke et al. 2015, S. 3-13). Somit kann man nach Braun et al. (2018, S. 36) von einem kompetenten Verhalten sprechen, wenn es durch ein Verhalten herbeigeführt wird, welches zum speziellen Umstand passt und das Handeln eine soziale Akzeptanz besitzt. Leisen (2015, S. 2) hingegen definiert Kompetenz mit dem willentlichen Handeln und Umgang mit Werten und Wissen. Es lässt sich daraus schlussfolgern, dass sich Kompetenzen nur im Handeln zeigen können. Voraussetzung dafür ist, dass sich Kompetenz in der Performanz zeigt und die Person motiviert und gewillt ist.
Wenn die Handlung selbstorganisiert, kreativ und in Situationen anwendbar ist, die dynamisch und unüberschaubar wirken oder sogar zeitweise in ihrer Komplexität chaotische Züge annehmen, dann werden kompetente Fähigkeiten zugesprochen. Dies macht das Konstrukt Kompetenz in seiner Begrifflichkeit zu einer Fähigkeit selbstorganisiert handeln zu können (Erpenbeck et al., 2017, S. 12-16).
Im kompetenzorientierten Unterricht sollen Lernziele und Kompetenzentwicklung vereint werden. Ein Auseinandersetzen mit den Lernzielen, eine langfristige Planung und zielführende Methoden müssen in die Unterrichtsplanung einfließen, um den Kompetenzentwicklungsprozess zu fördern, denn Kompetenzen werden im Verlauf des Lehr-/ Lernprozesses erworben (Didagma, 2022, o.S.).
Beim kompetenzorientierten Unterricht geht es, um die Befähigung der SuS Problemstellungen am Ende eines Lern- oder Themenabschnittes zu lösen. Der entscheidende Faktor ist, dass der Lerngegenstand bei den SuS eine Neugier weckt und sie sich mit diesem beschäftigen und aktiviert werden (Cornelsen, 2019, o.S.). Ergänzend schreibt Leisen (2015, S. 3-5), dass die Gestaltung der Lernumgebung einen wichtigen Einfluss darauf hat, ob und in welcher Form sich die/der Lernende mit dem Lerngegenstand intensiv, aktiv, selbstgesteuert und kooperativ auseinandersetzt, denn sinnstiftendes Lernen kann die Kompetenzentwicklung begünstigen und ist nachhaltiger.
Die Berufskompetenz setzt sich nach Schelten (2010, S. 173) aus den folgenden Kompetenzen zusammen:
- Fachkompetenz (Kapitel 2.2.1)
- Methodenkompetenz (Kapitel 2.2.2)
- Personalkompetenz (Kapitel 2.2.3)
- Sozialkompetenz (Kapitel 2.2.4)
Das Ziel in einer beruflichen Ausbildung ist es Berufskompetenz zu entwickeln und gleichzeitig die Entwicklung der Persönlichkeit zu fördern. In eine ähnliche Richtung geht die Definition der Kompetenzen im Notfallsanitäter-Curriculum BW. Hier beschreiben Ohder et al. (2018, S. 38) den Begriff Kompetenzen als Persönlichkeitsmerkmale, welche im Verlauf der Ausbildung angeeignet oder intensiviert werden sollen. Im Zuge dessen stellt die Lernfelddidaktik eine Näherung an einen kompetenzorientierten Unterricht dar, um die zielgerichtete Entwicklung von Kompetenzen unter Einbezug lebensrealer Anforderungen zu bewerkstelligen. Dabei wird nicht mehr klassisch nach Unterrichtsfächern sortiert, sondern es findet eine Fokussierung auf die im realen Arbeitsalltag anfallenden Arbeitsabläufe/-handlungen statt (Ohder et al., 2018, S. 39).
Alle in einem Arbeitsprozess anfallenden Handlungen werden zu Lernfeldern subsumiert und gemeinsam unterrichtet, statt sie in einzelnen Unterrichtsfächern getrennt voneinander zu lehren. So wird eine Übereinstimmung zu realen Arbeitsabläufen hergestellt (Schelten & Zedler, 2001, S. 48).
Die Kultusministerkonferenz (KMK) (2011, S.31) schlägt vor aus den Lernfeldern kleinere Einheiten namens Lernsituationen zu generieren. So lassen sich berufliche Aufgabenstellungen und Handlungsabläufe in die Kompetenzerwartungen der Lernfeldbeschreibung umsetzen. Für die Umsetzung im Unterricht sollen die Lernsituationen didaktisch und methodisch aufgearbeitet werden. Die Lernsituationen haben das Ziel die Entwicklung möglichst aller Kompetenzdimensionen zu fördern und orientieren sich am Erwerb umfassender Handlungskompetenz.
Die Definition der Fachkompetenz ist die Fähigkeit und Fertigkeit zum lösungsorientierten Handeln. Die Entwicklung beginnt im Kindesalter und wird über die schulische Laufbahn in Aus- und Weiterbildung ausgeprägt und intensiviert (Ohder et al., 2018, S. 40). Oelke und Meyer (2013, S. 343) werden im Bereich der beruflichen Bildung etwas konkreter, indem sie auf das Selbstverständnis im professionellen Kontext eingehen und den Praxistransfer auf aktuell wissenschaftlichen Standards unterstreichen. Die Fachkompetenz zählt neben der Methoden- und Sozialkompetenz zu den zentralen Faktoren im Erwerb vollständiger Handlungskompetenz (Bartscher & Nissen, 2018a, o.S.).
Um für Arbeitsaufgaben selbstständig Lösungswege zu erstellen, diese kritisch zu bewerten und um das eigene Handeln in Struktur zu bringen, ist nach Ohder et al. (2018, S. 40) eine Methodenkompetenz notwendig. Im Gabler Wirtschaftslexikon wird die Methodenkompetenz als Fähigkeit zur Beschaffung von Informationen definiert. Informationen auszuwerten und die daraus entstehende Interpretation der Ergebnisse richtig zu präsentieren, zeugt von einer Methodenkompetenz (Bartscher & Nissen, 2018b, o.S.).
Die Personal- oder Selbstkompetenz ist Voraussetzung, um ein positives Selbstbild zu entwickeln und befähigt zu einer Selbstreflexion. Selbstständigkeit und Selbstvertrauen stehen als subjektbezogene Fähigkeiten im Vordergrund der Schlüsselqualifikationen für die genannte Kompetenz (Ohder et al., 2018, S. 40).
In der Handreichung der KMK (2011, S. 15) wird auf die Entwicklungschancen und Einschränkungen im familiären und beruflichen Bereich in Verbindung mit der Selbstkompetenz eingegangen. Mit Bezug zum rettungsdienstlichen Alltag ist dies ein nennenswerter Punkt, bei welchem an eine frühzeitige Förderung der Selbstkompetenz im Ausbildungsbereich gedacht werden muss. Die KMK (2011, S. 15) ergänzt das Entfalten von eigenen Begabungen, von Kritikfähigkeit sowie von Verantwortungs- und Pflichtbewusstsein mit der Entwicklung von angemessenen Wertevorstellungen.
Die KMK (2021, S. 15) definiert den Begriff der Sozialkompetenz mit dem Verhalten in der Kommunikation, dem in Kontakt treten mit Menschen, der Arbeit im Team, sich seiner Rolle bewusst zu sein und für das Team Verantwortung zu übernehmen. Regeln in einer Gruppe zu achten und ein gemeinsames Ziel zu verfolgen, ist der Ausgangspunkt der Solidarität.
Zwischen Sozialkompetenz und sozial kompetentem Verhalten ist zu differenzieren, denn die Kompetenz ist verborgen und trägt zur tatsächlichen Fähigkeit bei, sich in einer bestimmten Interaktion sozialkompetent zu verhalten (Kanning, 2002, S. 155). Sozial kompetentes Verhalten ist ein Versuch, die Interessen der an der Interaktion Beteiligten auszugleichen. Sozial kompetentes Verhalten trägt im besten Fall dazu bei, dass alle Beteiligten ihre Interessen gleichermaßen verwirklichen können (Kanning, 2002, S. 157-158). Viele individuelle Kompetenzen werden mit einem Begriff vereint. Die Erforschung der Sozialkompetenz ist problembehaftet, denn sie beinhaltet jegliche Verhaltensäußerungen, die sich direkt oder indirekt auf Individuen beziehen. Zur Erforschung der Sozialkompetenz benötigt es ein multidimensionales Messinstrument. Wenn sich ein solches Instrument etabliert, eröffnet sich die Möglichkeit verschiedene Kompetenzen miteinander zu vergleichen und zu untersuchen (Kanning, 2002, S. 159-161). Somit könnte man bestimmen, welche Kompetenzen für einzelne Handlungsphasen eine Notwendigkeit besitzen und welche nur unbewiesene Vermutungen darstellen (Kanning, 2002, S. 162).
Sozial kompetent zu sein, bedeutet auch das Erlangen und Vertiefen von empathischen Fähigkeiten (das Verstehen der Welt mit den Augen des Gegenübers), Beziehungen zu entwickeln und diese zu halten oder zu unterbrechen (Oelke & Meyer, 2013, S. 343). Die Definitionen von Sozialkompetenz sind meist geläufig und klar, aber eine Definition allein reicht häufig nicht aus, um zu verstehen, was Sozialkompetenz bedeutet. Gerade im Kontext einer Beurteilung, die in ein Punktesystem gepresst ist und auf Noten basiert, ist es schwierig Sozialkompetenz adäquat zu erfassen (Oelke & Meyer, 2013, S. 343).
Bei der Definition der Interaktion ist nach Köck und Ott (1989, S. 333) nicht nur das Verbale zu beachten, sondern auch das Verhalten, da es sich bei Interaktionen um eine Wechselwirkung von mindestens zwei Personen, mit der beeinflussenden Wirkung des Verhaltens, handelt. Diese Definition diente als Grundlage für die Datenanalyse in Kapitel 5, denn so konnte der Begriff Interaktion operationalisiert werden. Der Brockhaus (1989, S. 560) beschreibt die Interaktion als Zusammenspiel von zwei oder mehr Personen in einem wechselseitigem Rollenverständnis in Aktion und Reaktion.
Hier wurden die Begrifflichkeiten der Aktion und Reaktion zur Kategorisierung der Interaktion in Kapitel 6.2 übernommen und werden dort näher beschrieben.
Die Interaktionskompetenz ist die Fähigkeit Wünsche und Ziele von anderen und sich selbst zu berücksichtigen und dies in einem adäquaten Verhalten widerzuspiegeln. Die Fähigkeit der Selbstregulation ist ein Teil der Interaktionskompetenz (Kiper & Mischke, 2008, S. 87). Weiter bedarf es der Befähigung über Beobachtung die Interessen der Mitmenschen zu ermitteln und sich aktiv auf Mitmenschen zuzubewegen (Kiper & Mischke, 2008, S. 88). Zusammenfassend ist die Interaktionskompetenz die Kommunikation und Zusammenarbeit mit anderen. Dabei kann angemessen oder unangebracht kommuniziert oder in Interaktion getreten werden. Unangebrachtes Verhalten kann zu sich selbst oder auf den Mitmenschen gerichtet sein. Daraus lässt sich ableiten, dass zu einer Interaktionskompetenz mehr als nur das gesprochene Wort zählt. Gerade im rettungsdienstlichen Bereich ist die Befähigung der Beobachtung und Zusammenarbeit essenziell wichtig, ebenso gehört die Selbstregulation und die Befähigung des Verstehens der Mitmenschen zu einer bedeutenden Eigenschaft im Umgang mit Menschen.
Die Entwicklung der Kompetenzen bekommt in der beruflichen Ausbildung ein hohes Maß an Aufmerksamkeit. In der Ausbildung der NotfallsanitäterInnen wird im Curriculum BW (Ohder et al., 2018, S. 38-41) auf die Kompetenzentwicklung mit der Ausbildung nach Lernfeldern verwiesen und geht somit den Weg der Kultusministerkonferenz. Diese betrachtet den lernfeldbezogenen Unterricht als Ausgangspunkt, um den SuS das Verständnis der fachwissenschaftlichen Theorie über Aufgaben- oder Problemstellungen zu vermitteln (KMK, 2011, S.11). Sauter und Staudt (2016, S. 1-2) bringen den Begriff Persönlichkeit mit ein. Sie schreiben, dass es bei zu treffenden Entscheidungen und beim Vertreten von Standpunkten nötig ist Persönlichkeit einzubringen.
Somit kann man sagen, dass die Kompetenz ein Element der Persönlichkeit ist, aber die Kompetenz kann keine Eigenschaft der Persönlichkeit sein (Erpenbeck & Hasebrook 2011, S. 227). Dies bringt das Dilemma Anhaltspunkte zu finden, mit denen man die Persönlichkeit in Zahlen ausdrücken kann, um sie in einem Notenschlüssel darzustellen. Meist werden Qualifikationen in einer Prüfung Schritt für Schritt abgeleistet und es wird nach dem aktuellen Wissensstand und den gegenwärtigen Fertigkeiten beurteilt (Erpenbeck & Hasebrook 2011, S. 228). Kompetenzen sind nicht operationalisierbar und für den Betrachter in der ganzheitlichen Erfassung kaum wahrnehmbar. Eine notenbasierte Erfassung von kreativen Lösungen oder selbstorganisiertem Handeln fließt selten in eine Bewertung mit ein (Erpenbeck & Hasebrook 2011, S.229). Daraus kann man schließen, dass die fachlichen Fertigkeiten im Vordergrund jeder Prüfung stehen, da diese in einer Reihenfolge von vorgesehenen Algorithmen abgehakt und bewertet werden. Eine kreative Lösung, die nicht einem standardisierten Vorgehen gleichkommt, erscheint häufig als ein nicht anerkannter Weg.
Trotzdem sind Kompetenzen bei und nach jeder Prüfung ein zentrales Thema. Die Verbesserungen und Entwicklungen einzelner Kompetenzen können nicht bei allen SuS mit dem identischen Prüfungsbogen bewertet werden, da die Kompetenz als Bestandteil der Persönlichkeit nicht einheitlich zu bewerten ist. Dennoch werden die Kompetenzen auf irgendeine Art und Weise abgeprüft und in einer Note zum Ausdruck gebracht. Bonse-Rohmann (2008, S. 6) geht noch einen Schritt weiter und erwähnt, dass Kompetenzen an sich nicht abgeprüft werden können.
In den folgenden Kapiteln soll ein Überblick zu den didaktischen und methodischen Hintergründen im möglichen Bezug zu der Unterrichtsmethode ER geschaffen werden. Die Lerntheorie und die Ermöglichungsdidaktik stellen dabei die didaktische Begründung dar. In der Methodik wird versucht über das problemorientierte (-basierte) Lernen weiter zu SG und der Gamifizierung in der Bildung einen Bezug zum ER zu schaffen.
Um einen ER im Unterricht anzubieten, braucht es im Vorfeld eine didaktisch-methodische Verschränkung. Huber (2008, S. 14) schreibt, dass hinter einer Methode immer eine ergänzend didaktische Grundlage stehen sollte. Wenn über den Lehr-/Lernprozess nachgedacht wird, muss immer hinterfragt werden, was das Ziel dahinter ist, und was gelernt werden soll. Die Darbietung in Form von der Methodik soll nicht im Mittelpunkt der Überlegung stehen, denn die Methodik muss sich an den Lern- und Kompetenzzielen orientieren. Renkl (1996, S. 81-82) betont, dass es nicht das Ziel sein kann „träges Wissen“ zu generieren. Lernforscher meinen damit ein isoliertes Wissen, das reproduziert und abgefragt werden kann, aber bei dem es dem Träger nicht gelingt dieses Wissen in einem anderen Kontext einzusetzen und Handlungsprobleme zu meistern.
Eine Möglichkeit kann sein die Lehrenden mehr in die Verantwortung zu nehmen, um ihnen die Möglichkeit zu geben, dass sie an den Themen und Zielen des Unterrichtes angepasst ein Lernsetting gestalten können und didaktische Reduktion und Rekonstruktion an ihre Qualitätsanforderungen anpassen (Siebert, 1998, S. 45).
Weiter kommt hinzu, dass sich die Rolle der Lehrkraft mit dem Einbeziehen der Lernfelddidaktik verändert hat. Die Lehrkraft ändert die Rolle eines Wissensvermittlers und nimmt eine beratende und begleitende Tätigkeit ein. In dieser Rolle soll auch Verantwortung für individuelle Lernprozesse und Lernumgebungen übernommen werden (Ohder et al., 2018, S. 119).
Im Bereich der Erwachsenenpädagogik sollte immer mitbedacht werden, dass Erwachsene im Lernprozess von ihrer Lebensgeschichte und von ihren Lebensgewohnheiten beeinflusst werden. Sie bringen Vorstrukturen, Muster und Problemlösungsstrategien aus ihrer Vorbildung mit. In keinem Lernsetting werden zwei Menschen auf dieselbe Weise lernen (Arnold & Schüßler, 2020, S. 45).
In diesem Kapitel wird auf drei bekannte Lerntheorien, die des Behaviorismus, Kognitivis- mus und Konstruktivismus, eingegangen. Im Besonderen wird die Lerntheorie des Konstruktivismus betrachtet, da diese die führende Lerntheorie in der Lernfelddidaktik darstellt. Die Lerntheorien sind in stetiger Weiterentwicklung und haben großen Einfluss auf die Wissenschaft des Lehrens und Lernens sowie auf die Unterrichtsgestaltung in der Notfallmedizinischen Ausbildung.
Lerntheorien bedienen nicht primär die didaktische Ausrichtung (Reinmann, 2013, S. 2). Das heißt, dass die Lehrkraft durch die Wahl von beispielsweise der Lerntheorie des Konstruktivismus nicht zwingend an ein eigenes didaktisches Konzept gebunden ist. Nichtsdestoweniger wird das didaktische Design mithilfe lerntheoretischer und didaktischer Annahme gestaltet.
Delles (2021, S. 2) erwähnt, dass das Wissen um Lerntheorien gerade deswegen so relevant für den Lehrberuf ist, weil nicht nur nach den Modalitäten des Lernens gefragt wird, sondern die Kenntnisse über diese Theorien dazu dienen, anderen Menschen erfolgreich Wissen zu vermitteln. Zusätzlich können aus den Annahmen und Betrachtungen der Lerntheorien didaktische Konsequenzen für den Unterricht gezogen werden.
Als bedeutendste Vertreter kristallisieren sich der russische Mediziner und Psychologe Pawlow und der amerikanische Psychologe Skinner heraus. Während Pawlow mittels Hundeexperimenten die klassische Konditionierung aufzeigt, die menschliches Verhalten und Lernen erklärbar macht (Lexikon der Psychologie, 2000, o.S.), beschäftigte sich Skinner mit der operanten Konditionierung, mit der man aufzeigen kann, wie sich durch Belohnung erwünschte Verhaltensweisen bei Menschen und Tieren konditionieren lassen (Meichsner, 2015, o.S.). Deshalb wird nach Reinmann (2013, S. 3-4) unter dem Begriff Lernen in den behavioristischen Theorien auch die Verstärkung und Abschwächung von Verhaltensweisen verstanden, was einem Trainingsvorgang ähnelt.
Reinmann (2013, S. 4) beschreibt den Kognitivismus mit dem Ziel Probleme zu lösen, indem der Prozess des Lernens als Informationsverarbeitung betrachtet wird. Probleme und Inhalte werden von Lehrenden didaktisch aufbereitet. Die Lernenden sind in einer aktiven Rolle, werden aber über didaktisch aufbereitete Probleme und Inhalte vom Lehrenden gesteuert, was das Verstehen der Informationen für die Lernenden erleichtern soll.
In diesem Abschnitt soll sich dem Begriff Konstruktivismus aus Sicht der Erwachsenenbildung genähert werden, denn der Konstruktivismus steht für zahlreiche Theorien und Konzepte. Sie alle teilen die Vorstellung, dass der Mensch keinen direkten kognitiven Zugang zur Realität hat. Vielmehr akzeptiert er nur, was er mit seinen eigenen Sinnen auch unmittelbar erfassen und gezielt verarbeiten kann (Arnold, 2003, S. 51). Dies bedeutet nichts anderes, als dass sich der Mensch seine eigene Realität konstruiert. Somit ist Wissen durch Lehrende nicht vermittelbar, sondern es muss selbstständig durch den Lernenden konstruiert werden.
Stangl (2022, o.S.) ist der Meinung, wenn die konstruktivistische Sichtweise im Rahmen eines Unterrichtes umzusetzen ist, ist es wichtig den Lernenden auch ausreichend Raum für ihre eigenen Konstruktionen des Lernstoffes zu lassen. Interaktion mit anderen Lernenden ist dabei ein entscheidender Faktor, ob Lernen angenommen, weitergeführt und entwickelt wird. Motivation, Selbstorganisation und eigene Strukturen sind Grundvoraussetzungen, damit eine eigene Perspektive auf den Lernprozess eingenommen werden kann und somit eine klare Handlungsorientierung entsteht.
Ebenso ist ein entscheidender Faktor für den Lernerfolg, dass das in der Theorie Erlernte auch in die Praxis umgesetzt wird. Von Glasersfeld (1995, S. 30) beschreibt diesen Punkt in der Form, dass der Konstruktivismus nicht nur eine reine Erkenntnistheorie ist, sondern auch als Handlungstheorie gesehen werden kann. Die Vermittlung von Wissen erfolgt nicht durch passiven Empfang, sondern durch die Aktion eines aktiven Subjekts (von Glasersfeld, 1995, S. 30). Bilzer (2007, S. 21) schreibt, nur wenn in der Praxis gehandelt wird, können die notwendigen Kompetenzen auch gefördert und erweitert werden. Dies unterstreicht der Konstruktivismus, da das Lernen als aktiver Prozess des Lernenden gesehen wird, der sein neues Wissen an bereits vorhandenes Wissen und Erfahrungen anknüpft. Reinmann (2013, S. 5) sieht den Vorgang des Lernens aus konstruktivistischer Sicht als einen auto- poietischen Vorgang, der nur durch Störungen hervorgerufen werden kann. Was bedeutet, dass die Selbststeuerung und somit das selbst Erzeugen der eigenen Systemelemente aus Sicht des Lernenden nur durch Störungen erzeugt werden kann.
Die konstruktivistische Didaktik war die Grundlage der Ermöglichungsdidaktik, die der Pädagoge Rolf Arnold in den 1990er Jahren entwickelte und der den Begriff prägte. Nach der Annahme des Konstruktivismus wird die Wirklichkeit individuell konstruiert, somit kann die Lehrkraft zur Wissensvermittlung lediglich anregen und die Lernenden zum selbstorganisierten Lernen ermuntern und heranführen. Die Ermöglichungsdidaktik soll den Lernenden das Lernen erlauben. Dies soll selbstgesteuert und eigenständig passieren, indem die Lernenden ihre Lernziele selbstständig abstecken (Quilling, 2015, S. 2). Die Aufgabe der Lehrkraft ist das Schaffen der Rahmenbedingungen, die diese Form des Lernens unterstützen soll. Hier liegt der Unterschied zur „Erzeugungsdidaktik“, in welcher die Lehrkraft Zielsetzungen von außen setzt und die Inhalte an die Lernenden vermittelt (Quilling, 2015, S. 3). Dies unterstreichen auch Arnold und Schüßler (2020, S. 23), die die folgende Überlegung für bedeutsam in der Begründung einer Ermöglichungsdidaktik halten: „Lehren beginnt nicht mit dem Vortragen geheiligter Wahrheiten, sondern mit dem Schaffen von Gelegenheiten, die den Schülern Anlass zum Denken geben. - Die Vorbedingung dafür ist, dass man Schülern die Fähigkeit zu denken zuschreibt“.
Das Lernen ist ein Aneignungsprozess und diesen Prozess kann man nicht linear betrachten, denn die Beteiligten werden von ihrer eigenen Wahrnehmung der Wirklichkeit, ihrer sozialen Umgebung und dem situationsbedingten Zusammenhang beeinflusst (Arnold & Schüßler, 2020, S. 1). Mit diesem Wissen sollte den Lehrenden klar sein, dass eine pedantisch geplante Wissensübermittlung nicht sehr erfolgsversprechend ist. Die Aneignung signifikanter Inhalte kann über das Konstruieren eines Lernarrangements geschaffen werden, welches die Selbsterschließungsaktivitäten der Lernenden fördert (Arnold & Schüßler, 2020, S. 2).
Der Fokus wird bei der Ermöglichungsdidaktik auf Konstruktionsmethoden wie zum Beispiel Rollenspiele, Planspiele oder Simulationen gelegt (Arnold & Schüßler, 2020, S. 46). Arnold und Schüßler (2020, S. 49) sprechen sich bei der Ermöglichungsdidaktik dafür aus, dass für erfolgreiche Lernprozesse positive Anlässe und Lernumgebungen geschaffen werden sollen.
In den folgenden Unterkapiteln werden Lernformen thematisiert, die Bezüge zur Methode ER im Unterricht zulassen. Hier wird nach dem Prinzip vom Allgemeinen ins Konkrete vorgegangen. Eine direkte Zuteilung zu einer Lernform ist mit der Methode ER nicht angestrebt. Über das problemlösende Lernen soll der Einstieg in die Richtung Gamifizierung im Unterricht gegangen werden, um im weiteren Verlauf ganz konkret die Unterrichtsform ER zu beschreiben.
„Problemlösen ist eine Lebensform und dient der Lebensbewältigung. Kaum eine anspruchsvolle Tätigkeit und kaum ein Lernen, das nicht in irgendeiner Form Züge des Problemlösens aufweist“ (Reusser, 2005, S. 163).
Lösungsorientiertes Arbeiten ist eine Schlüsseltätigkeit im beruflichen Kontext von NFS. Ohder et al. (2018, S. 117-118) schreiben im Notfallsanitäter-Curriculum, dass problemorientiertes Lernen die Auszubildenden befähigt Lösungsstrategien für unbekannte Problemstellungen anzuwenden.
Sich einem Problem zu nähern und unter größter Anstrengung zu versuchen dieses zu lösen, beflügelt und motiviert. Diese extrinsische Motivation allein ist schon ein nicht zu vernachlässigender Grund problemlösendes Lernen in das Unterrichtsgeschehen einzubinden (Reusser, 2005, S. 163). Das lebenslange Lernen lebt von dem aktiven Umgang mit Problemen. Ein Auftrag mit zentraler Rolle für die Didaktik ist es Probleme in eine lebendige Form einzubetten, denn nur so bleiben die Sinne und unser Geist in Bewegung (Reusser, 2005, S. 164-165).
Den Mittelpunkt des Lernens stellt nach Weber (2007, S. 12) das Lernproblem dar. Ein wichtiger Baustein für den Erfolg des Lernens ist die Qualität der Probleme. Weiter geht Weber (2007, S. 89) auf die Wichtigkeit der Problemstellung mit Bezug zum Vorwissen und einem angemessenen Schwierigkeitsgrad der Herausforderungen ein. Hier sollte ein Mittelweg gefunden werden, im Sinne von “Low hanging fruit”. Die SuS sollen sich ein wenig strecken, aber die leckeren Früchte, in sinnbildlicher Darstellung der Probleme, gerade so erreichen und somit die Probleme lösen können.
Die Theorie der SG stellt die erste Grundlage der Gamifizierung im schulischen Kontext zur Wissensvermittlung dar. Abt (1970, S. 6) schreibt, dass es schon vor der Einführung von Computern den Gebrauch von Spielen als Wissensvermittler gab. Die Spiele sollen die schulischen Leistungen verbessern und verfolgen ein pädagogisches Ziel, das von Abt nicht näher definiert wird (1987, S.21).
Spiele als Instrument für das Ziel einer wirksamen Wissensvermittlung reichen bis zum Beginn der Menschengeschichte zurück und spielen heute noch eine entscheidende Rolle in der menschlichen Kultur (Tolks et. al, 2018, S. 274-276). Das zentrale Abgrenzungsmerkmal gegenüber entertainmentorientierten Spielen ist ein explizit formuliertes Bildungsziel (Tolks et. al, 2018, S. 277-278).
Im Bereich der Bildung und Erziehung ist die Methode SG häufig anzutreffen. Auf vielversprechende Art und Weise ist es möglich sich auf der einen Seite neuer Materie zu nähern und auf der anderen Seite kann erworbenes Wissen verdichtet und intensiviert werden (Liarokapis et al, 2010, S. 71-72).
Die Immersion und das Hervorrufen eines Flow-Erlebnisses sind Begrifflichkeiten aus dem Genre der SG. Mit der Immersion ist das „Eintauchen“ in die virtuelle Spielwelt gemeint, dem Erleben in einer imaginären Umgebung. Der Immersionsfaktor und das Gleichgewicht zwischen der Herausforderung und das Bewältigen der Situation wird als Flow-Erlebnis wahrgenommen, welches den Lernprozess erhöht (Wang & Singhal, 2013, S. 68-76).
Clark et al. (2016, S. 115) betonen, dass SG den Lernerfolg auf dem affektiven und psychomotorischen Niveau erhöhen.
Charakteristisch für das Game Based Learning (GBL) ist der Zusammenhang zwischen Grundlagen eines Spiels oder einer Simulation und dem Vermitteln von Lerninhalten. Diese Durchführung basiert auf der Methode der SG. Bei Gamification werden Grundzüge eines Spieles herangezogen und das Lernen selbst basiert nicht auf einem Spiel (Jacob & Teutenberg, 2017, S. 97). Bei flüchtiger Inaugenscheinnahme scheint dieser Punkt nebensächlich, die Konsequenzen sind aber fundamental. GBL definiert sich darüber Wissen auf Grundlage eines Spiels zu generieren. Bei allen Interpretationen wird die Art des Spiels beim GBL nicht genau spezifiziert. Die Art von Wissen, Zielgruppe und in welchem Zusammenhang Lernen stattfindet, unterliegt keiner genauen Erläuterung (Jacob & Teutenberg, 2017, S. 98).
Ob gewisse Elemente beim GBL aus dem Spiel herausgenommen werden oder ob es ein vollwertiges und komplettes Spiel ist, ist eine sehr subjektive Einschätzung und wird sehr individuell wahrgenommen (Sailer, 2016, S. 13). Bei dem Begriff des spielfremden Kontextes gibt es eine Einigkeit in den Definitionen von Gamification und GBL, denn beide Formen haben den Anspruch nicht nur der Unterhaltung zu dienen, sondern verfolgen weitere Ziele (Sailer, 2016, S. 14).
Das Potential beim GBL besteht darin, dass komplexe Arbeitsaufgaben in kleinen Abschnitten angeboten werden und die AnwenderInnen spielerisch und motiviert über die Simulation und Kommunikation zum Lernerfolg geführt werden (Lau & Borchert, 2020, S. 5).
Die Begrifflichkeit Gamification wurde nach Sailer (2016, S. 5) das erste Mal 2002 genutzt. Der Begriff konnte sich laut Detering et al. (2011, S. 9) erst im Jahr 2010 durchsetzen und weckte das Interesse in der Praxis und der Forschung. Es sollen aus dem Sektor der Unterhaltungsspiele Spiel-Design-Elemente in ein spielfremdes Prinzip übernommen werden. Anfangs wurde die Bezeichnung Gamification im betriebswirtschaftlichen Bereich genutzt und für das Marketing eingesetzt (Detering et al., 2011, S. 10).
Spiel-Design-Elemente werden beim Gamification mit spieltypischer Technologie in Verbindung gebracht. Kategorisiert werden die Spiel-Design-Elemente in Punkte, Abzeichen, Bestenlisten, Team-Bestenlisten und Leistungsgraphen, die den TeilnehmerInnen eine direkte Rückmeldung geben können. Avatare und eine Story-Line haben den Zweck die Mitwirkenden in die Handlung eintauchen zu lassen und sich mit dem Erlebten besser zu identifizieren (Sailer, 2016, S. 30-43).
Hier ist ergänzend zu erwähnen, dass sich die Methode ER nicht eindeutig in das GBL oder in die Methode Gamification einsortieren lässt. Die Methode ER in der Umsetzung der vorliegenden Arbeit bedient sich der nötigen Spielelemente aus allen Bereichen der beschriebenen Methoden, denn was alle Methoden im Bereich der Gamifizierung im Unterricht vereint, ist die Wirksamkeit der Wissensvermittlung.
Um den ER als Unterrichtsmethode zu begründen, bedarf es einer Zuhilfenahme diverser pädagogischer Strategien und vorhandener Methoden. Arnold (2003, S. 102) vertritt die Meinung, dass in der Erwachsenenbildung eine Orientierung an Methodik einen höheren Stellenwert bekommen sollte. Er begründet dies damit, dass die Frage nach dem „Was“ immer mehr in den Hintergrund rückt und die Methodik, also die Methode der Umsetzung des Unterrichtes, eine stärkere Gewichtung bekommt.
Trotz allem ist nach Klafki et al. (1986, S. 72) auf die gegenseitige Relation der Didaktik und Methodik zu achten. Eine falsch gewählte Methodik kann Inhalte und die dazugehörigen Lernziele verfälschen. Im schlimmsten Fall nehmen die Lernenden dies nicht wahr. Er plädiert für eine methodische Auswahl, die im Verhältnis zu dem ausgewählten Inhalt und den daraus ableitenden Lernzielen steht.
Nicholson (2018, S. 44) definiert ERs als teambasierte Live-Action-Spiele, in denen alle Beteiligten Hinweise entdecken, diese lösen und Aufgaben in einem oder mehreren Räumen abarbeiten. Dies geschieht in einem fest vorgelegten Zeitrahmen. Das Ziel ist es meist aus Räumlichkeiten auszubrechen, um somit als Team die Mission zu erfüllen. Das erste Escape Game wurde nach Nicholson (2018, S. 3) im Jahre 2007 in Kyoto, Japan, vom Verlag SCRAP umgesetzt. Das Spiel selbst wurde „Flucht“ getauft und die Spieler mussten aus einem Raum entfliehen. Weiter schreibt Nicholson, dass die ERs in den Jahren 20122013 ein rasantes Wachstum erlebten. Über Asien ging es nach Europa. Hier war Ungarn ein „Drehkreuz“ der Verbreitung von ERs in Europa. Im Jahre 2013 wurden in München die ersten kommerziell betriebenen ERs bespielt (Dietrich, 2014, o.S.).
Die Ratespiele folgen in ERs einer simplen Spiellogik mit Herausforderung, Lösung und Belohnung. Dieser immer gleichbleibende lineare Verlauf wird als Puzzle benannt. Die Rätsel werden nacheinander gelöst, bis am Ende das Spiel gewonnen ist. Eine andere Variation ist die Open Path Variante, bei der es den Spielenden erlaubt ist bei der Abarbeitung ihrer Quiz völlig frei vorzugehen. Alles in den Räumlichkeiten kann ein potenzielles Rätsel sein oder kann zur Lösung eines Rätsels dienen und verwendet werden (Wiemker et al., 2015, S. 8-9). Nicholson (2018, S. 46) schreibt, dass im kommerziellen Bereich die beiden Varianten vermischt werden und es keine klare Trennung gibt.
Während der Ausführung des ERs werden die TeilnehmerInnen durch eine Spielleitung begleitet. Diese kann Hinweise zum erfolgreichen Lösen der Rätsel geben. Nach Beendigung des Spiels gibt es eine durch die Spielleitung durchgeführte Nachbesprechung, in welcher noch offene Fragen geklärt werden können (Nicholson, 2018, S. 48-49).
ERs in der Freizeit aktivieren praktische und geistige Leistungen, die nötig sind, um im Team zusammen und in begrenzter Zeit ein gemeinsames Ziel zu erreichen. Veldkamp et al. (2020, S. 1) führen an, dass dies ebenso in einer Lernumgebung genutzt werden kann, indem Klassenzimmer in authentische Umgebungen im Sinne eines ERs umgebaut und genutzt werden. Die Kombination der ER-Merkmale ist aufgrund eines geheimnisvollen Ambientes mit verschlossenen Boxen, etlichen Schlössern und weiteren Möglichkeiten von interaktiven Rätseln ein einzigartiges und attraktives Lernumfeld.
ER Spiele mit professioneller Wissensvermittlung werden als Educational Escape Games benannt. Diese Unterrichtsmethode soll den Lernenden Wissen über spezielle Themen vermitteln und Kompetenzen aneignen lassen, indem die Lernenden spielerisch und im Team zusammen agieren. Das Abstimmen der Rätsel auf die jeweiligen Lernziele ist eine dringend einzuhaltende Notwendigkeit, da die Rätsel von den Lernenden in einer bestimmten Zeit gelöst werden sollten. Dies muss in der Planung und Umsetzung bedacht werden, um das eigentliche Ziel der Wissensvermittlung nicht aus den Augen zu verlieren (Fotaris & Mastoras, 2019, S. 236).
Veldkamp et al. (2020, S. 2) verweisen bei der Methode des ERs auf den theoretischen Ansatz des GBLs. Die Lernziele sind klar definiert und bei einem ER im Bereich der Bildung soll eine hohe Erfolgsquote im Lösen der Rätsel angestrebt werden. So kann das Erreichen aller Lernziele gewährleistet werden und das Lösen der Rätsel gibt den SuS eine positive Lernerfahrung. Die Rätsel sind in großen Teilen inhaltlich mit dem Lehrplan abgestimmt und sollten für die SuS lösbar, interessant und trotzdem herausfordernd sein, um keine Langeweile aufkommen zu lassen (Veldkamp et al., 2020, S. 3).
Der Aufwand eines ERs ist nicht unerheblich, somit eignet sich folgendes Zitat von Leisen, um den Wert dieser Unterrichtsmethode einzuschätzen:
Das Herzstück des Lernens ist die eigenständige und kooperative Arbeit an einem Gegenstand, einer Sache, einem Thema, einem Material, ... Die Arbeit ist ein Abarbeiten, ein Bearbeiten, ein Durchdringen, ein Durchdenken, ein Deuten, ein Umwälzen, eine Auseinandersetzung, ein diskursives Aushandeln mit sich und mit anderen, ... Es ist ein interaktiver konstruktiver Prozess im Dialog mit der Sache und mit anderen an der Sache und über die Sache. Lernen in diesem Sinne ist anstrengend und herausfordernd (Leisen, 2011, S. 105).
ERs wurden mithilfe von Plattformen wie zum Beispiel „Breakout educational“ spontan in die Bildung als Methode aufgenommen. Solche Plattformen werden von Bildungspraktikern betrieben, die sich aus dem Bereich der Freizeit-ERs bedienten. Dies ist vermutlich der hauptsächliche Grund, dass es zum Thema ER in der Bildung kaum wissenschaftliche Nachweise gibt (Veldkamp et al., 2020, S. 1).
Swacha (S.1) führte 2021 eine bibliometrische Untersuchung zum Stand der Forschung zu Gamification in der Bildung durch. Das Feld der Gamifizierung im Bildungskontext erhöhte sich mit dem Schlagwort „Gamification“ von der Untersuchung im Jahr 2014 von 357 Publikationen bis 2021 auf 19.000 Ergebnisse. In die Hauptanalyse wurden 2517 Datensätze aufgenommen. Weiter beschreibt Swacha (2021, S. 12) die rasante Entwicklung von Gamification in der Bildung. Jährlich kommt es zu Hunderten relevanten Veröffentlichungen zu diesem Thema. Der Begriff der Gamifizierung in der Bildung ist für den Forschungsbereich definiert und setzte sich bei den Forschenden durch (Swacha, 2021, S. 13).
In einer Studie von Kade (1985, S. 17) über Störungen bei Bildungsprozessen in der Erwachsenenbildung ergab sich in der Befragung der KursleiterInnen, dass sich die wesentlichen Störungen der TeilnehmerInnen auf mangelndes Interesse und Motivation zurückführen lassen. Hier konnte die systematische Literaturrecherche im Bereich gamifiziertes Lernen in der Hochschulbildung von Subhash und Cudney (2018, S. 29-30) die positiven Wirkungen von Gamifizierung im Unterricht unterstreichen. Aus der Untersuchung der insgesamt 41 Papers stellte sich heraus, dass sich aus dem Ansatz von Gamification und spielbarem Lernen in der Hochschulbildung eine Reihe von Vorteilen, zum Beispiel Engagement, Motivation und die Freude für Lehrende und Lernende, ergibt.
Im Bereich des problembasierten Lernens (PBL) konnte in der Studie von Cooper und Carver (2012, S. 175-183) eine Verbesserung im Teamwork und den Kompetenzbereichen der Kommunikation und sozialem Umgang beschrieben werden. Beim Erwerb von Fachwissen wurde kein Vorteil von PBL erkannt. In dem Review von Müller (2008), in welchem acht internationale Studien eingeschlossen wurden, wurde sogar eine negative Auswirkung von PBL auf das Erwerben von Basiswissen wahrgenommen. Eine besonders gute Auswirkung hat PBL auf die Zufriedenheit und die Sozial- und Selbstkompetenz der StudienteilnehmerInnen. Der Amerikaner Chikotas (2009, S. 393-397) konnte ebenso positive Entwicklungen im Teamwork nachweisen.
Die Methode ER ist im Bereich der Bildung keine neue Erfindung und es gibt pädagogische Fachkräfte, die sich auf sozialen Plattformen austauschen und sich gemeinsam beraten. Im didaktisch-methodischen Bereich gibt es bisher noch keine klare Zuordnung für einen ER mit Bildungsauftrag. Hier liegt der Konstruktivismus mit der dazugehörigen Lerntheorie dem ER sehr nahe. Die Argumentation dafür bietet von Glasersfeld (1995, S. 30), der den Konstruktivismus als Handlungstheorie ansieht. Und nur das Handeln in der Praxis kann die Förderung von Kompetenzen ermöglichen (Bilzer, 2007, S. 21).
Der Bezug zu dem didaktischen Ableger des Konstruktivismus, der Ermöglichungsdidaktik, unterstützt die Methode eines ERs, denn Rollenspiele, Planspiele oder Simulationen eignen sich zum Erschaffen von positiven Lernumgebungen, die den Lernprozess erfolgreich werden lassen (Arnold & Schüßler, 2020, S. 49).
Auch die behavioristische Lerntheorie kann in kleinen Teilen mit dem ER in Verbindung gebracht werden, denn in der Anordnung von Rätseln und deren Wiederholung im gleichen ER kann eine Art von Konditionierung geschaffen werden. Bei der Lerntheorie Kognitivis- mus und der Methode ER können Überschneidungen mit dem intensiven Auseinandersetzen vom Lerninhalt identifiziert werden.
Bei den methodischen Rückschlüssen ist das PBL die Grundlage des ERs im Unterrichtssetting. Der Bezug dazu liegt nahe, denn Rätsel stellen sich als Probleme dar, die gelöst werden müssen, um weitere Informationen, Schlüssel oder andere Tools für das weitere Vorankommen in einem ER zu bekommen. SGs werden nach Tolks et al. (2018, S. 274278) darüber definiert, dass ein klar formuliertes Bildungsziel im spielerischen Umgang im Vordergrund stehen muss und dies bei der Planung des Unterrichtes mit spielerischen Ansätzen bedacht werden soll. Jacob und Teutenberg (2017, S. 97-98) sehen auch bei GBL und Gamification das Bildungsziel mit oberster Priorität.
Die Anzahl der Veröffentlichung von ERs im Bildungsbereich nimmt zu und das Forschungsinteresse ist geweckt. Im Bereich der Ausbildung in der Notfallrettung wurden in der vorliegenden Arbeit keine Veröffentlichungen gefunden. Im Bereich der Gamifizierung lässt sich zusammenfassend sagen, dass der Spielspaß die Motivation der Lernenden steigerte. Dieser Anstieg der Motivation lässt eine erhöhte und intensivere Lernbereitschaft vermuten (Subhash & Cudney, 2018, S. 29-30).
Studien und Forschungsbeiträge mit dem direkten Bezug von ERs im Unterrichtssetting zur Förderung von Kompetenzen wurden in der Recherche der vorliegenden Arbeit nicht gefunden. Hier wurde auf den momentanen Forschungsstand des PBL ausgewichen, der eine Steigerung im Bereich der Sozialkompetenzen beschreibt (Cooper & Carver, 2012, S. 175183).
Hier soll der empirische Teil dieser Arbeit für etwas Aufklärung sorgen. Anhand eines Unterrichtes im Format eines ERs soll betrachtet werden, ob es zu einer positiven Entwicklung der allgemeinen Kompetenzen und im Speziellen der Interaktionskompetenz kommt. Die Parallelgruppe der Unterrichtsmethode FU soll mit den gleichen Lerninhalten und Lernzielen als Kontrollgruppe dienen. Im anschließenden Kapitel wird das methodische Vorgehen in der Planung und Umsetzung der Unterrichte ER und FU thematisiert. Weiter wird beschrieben, wie die Umsetzung und Datenermittlung des Fallszenarios am Folgetag abliefen.
