In dieser Bachelorarbeit wird die Verbindung zwischen Science-Fiction und Politik detailliert beleuchtet. Die Arbeit startet mit einer Analyse der Science-Fiction, indem sowohl die Definition als auch die historische Entwicklung dieses Genres betrachtet werden. Sie stellt die Frage, wie Science-Fiction Wissenschaft und Literatur zusammenbringt und wie sie politische Themen verarbeitet. Ein besonderes Augenmerk wird dabei auf die deutsche Perspektive der Science-Fiction und die Unterschiede zwischen Science-Fiction und Utopie gelegt. Im weiteren Verlauf beschäftigt sich der Autor mit dem Verhältnis von Politik und Science-Fiction, wobei grundlegende Konzepte der Politik als auch ihre Verknüpfung mit der Literatur analysiert werden. Zwei spezifische deutsche Science-Fiction-Romane, „Follower“ von Eugen Ruge und „Pulsarnacht“ von Dietmar Dath, werden als Fallstudien herangezogen, um die Darstellung von Politik in diesem Genre zu untersuchen. Die Arbeit endet mit einem zusammenfassenden Fazit und einem Ausblick auf zukünftige Forschungsperspektiven.
