This thesis investigates the relationship between the utilization of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) by teachers and the resulting academic performance of pupils in selected public elementary schools in the Division of Caloocan during the 2017-2018 school year.
Introduction
Teaching is becoming one of the most challenging professions in our society today where knowledge is expanding so rapidly that modern times demand the use of Information and Communication Technology. Information and Communication Technology has become within a short time one of the basic building blocks of a modern society. Many countries now regard understanding Information and Communication Technology and mastering its basic concepts as part of the core of education.
The developments in the use of the electronic media have influenced all walks of life. Education is no exception to this. The use of computers and the internet for enhancing the quality of education by making learning more relevant to life has been seen as an ideal by educational institutions. The citizens of tomorrow who are our students now are going to live in the age of the electronic media. How are we preparing them for the same? Are we giving them technology based Education? Are we giving them exposure to the use of computers and the internet? Have we integrated the Information and Communication Technology into classroom processes? The use of Information and Communication Technology will continue, to the extent of the technological literacy and it will become a basic functional requirement for our work, social and personal lives.
1. THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND: This chapter introduces the role of ICT in modern education, establishes the study's conceptual framework, and defines the research problem and significance.
2. REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES: This section provides a comprehensive survey of local and foreign literature and research regarding the pedagogical impact and implementation of ICT in educational settings.
3. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: This chapter details the descriptive-correlation research design, the selection of 100 teacher-respondents, the instruments used for data collection, and the statistical methods employed for analysis.
4. PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA: This chapter presents the statistical results regarding the demographic profile of respondents, their ICT usage levels, student academic performance, and the correlation findings.
5. SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: This final chapter synthesizes the results, draws final conclusions about the lack of significant relationship between ICT usage and academic performance, and offers recommendations for future improvement.

The research evaluates the relationship between the level of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) usage by teachers and the academic performance of pupils in selected schools within the Division of Caloocan.
The central themes include the integration of ICT in the classroom, the identification of teaching tools, the challenges teachers face with technology, and the assessment of student academic outcomes.
The main objective is to determine if a significant correlation exists between the extent to which teachers use ICT tools and the academic grades of their students.
The researcher employed a descriptive-correlation method, using a researcher-made questionnaire-checklist to gather data that was then analyzed with statistical techniques like frequency, percentage, and Pearson r correlation.
The main body covers the theoretical background of ICT in education, reviews related local and foreign literature, details the research design, and evaluates the specific impact of tools like PowerPoint, YouTube, and Microsoft Office in the teaching-learning process.
Key terms include Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Academic Performance, Teaching-Learning Process, Digital Literacy, and Educational Reform.
No, the study concluded there was no significant relationship, noting that pupils' academic performance and teachers' levels of ICT usage were only negligibly correlated.
Teachers identified the lack of appropriate software and instructional materials for implementing the K-12 curriculum as the most serious challenge regarding ICT use.
A highly recommended solution is for schools to provide sufficient software and hardware resources to support more effective teaching-learning processes.
