This study aims to determine the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic on the socio-emotional wellbeing of upper class primary school learners in the Maun region of Botswana. It seeks to investigate the correlation between pandemic-related stress, information, and available resources on the students' emotional stability and interpersonal development.
1.1 INTRODUCTION
Over time there has been a substantial transition in the field of education in relation to promoting the development and well-being of primary school children however, covid19 has evidently made a scarring on the Social and emotional wellness or roundedness of schooling subjects.
The covid19 outbreak has caused the biggest disturbance of education structures ever imagined human existence, affecting a large scale of learners in a lot of countries in the world. Shutting down of institutions, schools and peripheral learning environments has significantly affected above 90% of student population globally. Thus the emergence of such conceived change profoundly in entire outlook of lifestyle, civilisations and societies. Keeping isolated from social contact and confining kinesics strategies have in large scale affected primitive educational operation. continuation of learning institutions following adjustment of prohibition has become a difficult task with diverse new standard control plan of action arranged.
This research paper specifically examines the consequence of covid19 on the Socio-Emotional well-being of upper primary school students at Boyei primary school. Socio-Emotional well-being is specified as a child’s evolving power to create intimate, secure, momentous affinities, to encounter, control and communicate feelings as well as to investigate the surroundings and comprehend new aptitudes.
