The primary objective of this research is to examine the significance of UN guiding principles in securing the needs of vulnerable populations facing internal displacement due to climatic changes, even while remaining within their home countries. The study explores the intersection of international humanitarian law and environmental factors to address the challenges faced by displaced persons.
2.2. Impacts of Climate Change forces internal displacement
Clark and Bettini (2017: 36) stated that the people who are forced to leave their shelters and communities as the area is facing natural changes due to climate and environment are known as Internally displaced people – also, the people who faced the same situation but they cross the borders of their country and move to other countries in order to find opportunity or facilities for changing their living standard are known as refugees.
Climate change is an unfortunate thing that can occur anytime and any moment – which leads to result in harm and damage in many circumstances.
Additionally, Zuk et al. (2018: 31) observed that the major impacts of climate changes are increasing heat, insect outbreaks, droughts, wildfires, earthquakes, etc. which is directly affecting the lives of humans and the primary areas which get affected by the climate changes are water, food, health, and the environment which also brings health issues and concern. In addition, climate change has a huge impact on environmental factors and the living of people.
Chapter 1 – Introduction: This chapter outlines the research topic, its background, and the primary research questions regarding the intersection of climate change and internal displacement.
Chapter 2 – Literature Review: This section maps existing debates and theories regarding climate change, human displacement, and the relevant international legal frameworks currently in place.
Chapter 3 – Analytical and Conceptual Framework: This chapter establishes the critical framework, specifically the IASC methodology, used to interpret the research findings and categorize the causes of migration.
Chapter 4 – Research Methodology: This section details the qualitative research approach, data collection via secondary sources, and the analytical techniques employed to ensure reliability.
Chapter 5 – Findings: This chapter presents the data gathered concerning the specific challenges faced by IDPs and the mechanisms used to provide them with protection.
Chapter 6 – Analysis: This chapter provides an in-depth examination of the triggers for displacement and the performance of inter-governmental bodies in light of the research framework.
Chapter 7 – Conclusion and Recommendations: This final chapter synthesizes the study's outcomes and suggests future policy adjustments to better secure the rights of displaced persons.

The research focuses on the causal link between climate change and internal displacement, specifically examining how environmental factors force populations to migrate and the effectiveness of international protection mechanisms.
The central themes include the interpretation of UN Guiding Principles, the application of International Humanitarian Law, the categorization of various forms of displacement (conflict vs. environmental), and the support provided by agencies like UNHCR.
The objective is to analyze the hurdles faced by IDPs due to climate change and evaluate the actions required to protect their rights and security effectively.
The study utilizes a qualitative research methodology, employing a descriptive research design and thematic data analysis based on secondary sources and existing literature.
It covers theoretical frameworks, legal definitions of environmental migrants, the role of international committees in crisis resolution, and case-based analysis of environmental disasters triggering displacement.
Keywords include Climate Change, Internal Displacement, IDPs, Refugees, UNHCR, IASC framework, Human Rights, and Environmental Protection.
The IASC framework acts as the primary analytical tool used to categorize displacement and assess durable solutions for populations suffering from the consequences of climate-induced events.
UNHCR is identified as a critical inter-governmental body responsible for policy advocacy, shelter provision, and the development of protecting mandates for refugees and internally displaced persons.
