Die geplante Reform des Krankenhauswesens in Deutschland sieht eine Neuordnung und Einteilung der Krankenhäuser vor, was möglicherweise zur Schließung kleinerer Einrichtungen und zur Fusionierung der Patientenversorgung an größeren Standorten führen könnte. Trotz dieser weitreichenden Veränderungen fehlen valide Bedürfnis- und Auswirkungsanalysen, insbesondere im Pflegebereich, der bereits unter akutem Personalmangel leidet. Diese Studie untersucht die potenziellen Auswirkungen der Reform auf die Pflege anhand einer Stichprobe von 68 Pflegefachkräften in verschiedenen Krankenhausgrößen. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass Pflegekräfte in kleineren Krankenhäusern signifikant zufriedener und weniger belastet sind. Zudem würden die Berufsaustritte deutlich zunehmen, sollte ein verpflichtender Wechsel in größere Häuser erfolgen. Diese Erkenntnisse verdeutlichen die Notwendigkeit einer gründlichen Berücksichtigung der Bedürfnisse des Pflegepersonals bei der Umsetzung von Reformmaßnahmen im Gesundheitswesen.
