Der Trend zur Fernlehre gewinnt seit Jahren an Bedeutung, insbesondere seit der Corona-Pandemie. Fernstudienanbieter verzeichnen einen kontinuierlichen Studierendenzuwachs, gleichzeitig steigt aber auch die Zahl der Wettbewerber stetig. Ein effektives Hochschulmarketing wird daher zunehmend relevanter für Fernstudienanbieter. Allerdings ist dieser Teilbereich, insbesondere im für Fernstudienanbieter so wichtigen digitalen Raum, bisher kaum erforscht.
Das Ziel der Arbeit ist daher herauszufinden, welche Marketingmaßnahmen für Fernstudienanbieter besonders im digitalen Raum geeignet sein können. Hierzu wird die Forschungsfrage "Welche digitalen Maßnahmen des Hochschulmarketings sind für Fernstudienanbieter besonders effektiv, um die Wahl des Anbieters zu Ihren Gunsten zu beeinflussen?" gestellt. Um die Forschungsfrage zu beantworten, wird eine quantitative Untersuchung zur Wirkung verschiedener Marketingmaßnahmen, mit Fokus auf den digitalen Raum und unter Berücksichtigung der Variablen Alter, Bildungsniveau, Geschlecht und Anzahl der Social-Media-Nutzungsstunden pro Tag, durchgeführt. So soll herausgefunden werden, ob diese Variablen Einfluss auf die Wahrnehmung der Marketingmaßnahmen nehmen und ob es Indizien dafür gibt, dass solche Maßnahmen bei Fernstudienanbietern anders wahrgenommen werden, als in anderen Marktsegmenten.
