The primary aim of this project is to design and develop a web-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application specifically tailored to streamline the manufacturing operations of tea production facilities in Sri Lanka, addressing current issues of fragmented information flow and manual reporting.
1.2 Introduction
Technological improvements is a necessary entity when it comes to coping up with current competition in the global market. Sri Lanka has an export based economy to explore the nation as a significant impact on the world economy. for an example, there was a corvid pandemic situation in 2020-2021, srilankan economy highly depend on mostly tea exports. The main substances to explore the world are none other than tea, rubber and ect. the amount of gross domestic product gain from tea industries significantly impacts how well county run ups.
Usually it is beneficial to capture a significant impact to GDP and to smother the product outlet. even kenya has used widelly technological intervention to keep the pace of manufacture with significant improvement to quality with quantity. these measures are very much useful when it come to technological innovation that incurred recent past. this innovative solution required to maintain its quality while intervention of information deliverable system that capture the notify measures make the quality with quantity.
The on-time information is required to adjust the measures to keep its quality and improve lead time. machine breakdown and over use of capital must not be attained. These measures are used to fulfil the requirement to streamline the production efficiently utilise the capital and better ROI with capture the market.
1. Introduction: Outlines the current manual inefficiencies in the tea manufacturing sector and sets the motivation for implementing a dedicated ERP system.
2. Requirements Analysis: Defines the functional and non-functional requirements and maps out the stakeholders essential for the system's success.
3. System Design: Details the structural design of the software, utilizing UML diagrams, use cases, and entity-relationship models to define system logic.
4. Implementation: Describes the actual technical development phase, including the choice of MVC architecture, .Net framework, and SQL database integration.
5. Testing: Evaluates the software's performance and functional validity through various test scenarios and criteria.
6. Social, Legal, Ethical and Professional Issues: Discusses the mandatory professional standards and ethical considerations required for the development and maintenance of IT systems.
7. Conclusions & Evaluations: Summarizes findings from domain and technical experts and reviews the project against the initial aims and objectives.
8. Further Work & Improvements: Outlines future potential enhancements, specifically regarding cloud infrastructure and advanced security measures like two-factor authentication.

The project focuses on developing a web-based ERP system to modernize the tea manufacturing process in Sri Lanka by reducing information silos and manual reporting through digitalization.
The system covers production execution, machinery maintenance, labour allocation, and factory-level management tasks to ensure a smooth flow of operations.
The target is to establish a streamlined, data-driven ERP solution that assists management in making better, faster decisions by providing real-time data access at all levels of the factory hierarchy.
The implementation uses the .Net framework, C# as the programming language, and Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) as the underlying database system following an MVC architecture.
The design phase utilizes Use Case diagrams, Sequence diagrams, Class diagrams, and Entity-Relationship diagrams to structure the object-oriented logic and data connectivity.
The work is primarily characterized by terms such as ERP implementation, tea manufacturing automation, process efficiency, web application development, and database architecture.
The author describes a combination of waterfall and agile methodologies, where formal, required functional features follow a waterfall model while highly customizable parts are developed using agile sprints.
The system incorporates a standardized breakdown reporting feature that enables machine operators to notify the service crew, thereby minimizing downtime and improving overall reliability.
It is used to optimize data storage, normalize tables to prevent repetition, and ensure efficient, fast data retrieval, which is essential for managing production data effectively.
The system was evaluated through feedback from three focus groups—domain experts (factory owners/managers), technical experts (software engineers), and end-users (machine operators) to verify its workability and utility.
