Diese Bachelorarbeit befasst sich mit der Bedeutung des Social Web für den Tourismus und präsentiert Lösungsansätze für den Einstieg und Umgang mit Social Web-Anwendungen in der Tourismusbranche. Das Ziel ist es, die Lücke zwischen Web 2.0 und Tourismus zu schließen und praxisnahe Handlungsempfehlungen für Unternehmen zu entwickeln.
Die Einleitung führt in das Thema ein, stellt die Problemstellung dar und erläutert die Zielsetzung der Arbeit. Im zweiten Kapitel werden die theoretischen Grundlagen des Tourismus und des Web 2.0 erörtert. Dabei werden die klassischen Vertriebsstrukturen im Tourismus, die aktuelle Bedeutung der Tourismusbranche sowie die Entwicklung des Web 2.0 und die verschiedenen Social Web-Plattformen vorgestellt. Das dritte Kapitel verbindet die beiden Bereiche und zeigt die Relevanz des Social Web für den Tourismus auf. Es werden tourismusrelevante Social Web-Plattformen wie Facebook, YouTube, Reiseblogs und Bewertungsportale vorgestellt und deren Einfluss auf den Reiseentscheidungsprozess in fünf Phasen (Inspiration, Information, Buchung, Reise, Nachbereitung) beleuchtet. Im vierten Kapitel werden Handlungsempfehlungen für den Einstieg und Umgang mit dem Social Web für touristische Unternehmen gegeben. Neben der Strategieentwicklung, der Organisation von Zuständigkeitsbereichen und der Festlegung von Richtlinien werden die Grundvoraussetzungen für eine erfolgreiche Social Web-Präsenz, wie Dialogbereitschaft, Informationswert, Glaubwürdigkeit und Involvement, erläutert. Des Weiteren wird das Social-Media-Monitoring, die aktive Partizipation und das Unterstützen von Social Web-Kanälen sowie der Aufbau einer eigenen Social Web-Präsenz mit den verschiedenen Möglichkeiten (Fanpages, Corporate Blogs, eigene Communities, soziale Erweiterungsmodule) vorgestellt. Im Anschluss werden die Chancen, Potentiale und Herausforderungen des Social Web für touristische Unternehmen aufgezeigt, wie Kundengewinnung und -beziehungsmanagement, Kundennähe durch den Dialog, Imagesteigerung, Innovationen durch Kundenintegration, Beschwerde- und Qualitätsmanagement sowie Marktforschung. Schließlich werden die Risiken und Probleme des Social Web, wie der Verlust der Kommunikationshoheit, fehlendes Engagement, negative Kritik, verstärkter Wettbewerb und ein schwer messbarer Return on Investment, behandelt. Das fünfte Kapitel bildet den Abschluss der Arbeit und fasst die wichtigsten Erkenntnisse zusammen. Es werden die Implikationen des Social Web für die Tourismusbranche und die Bedeutung des Semantic Web als Weiterentwicklung des Web 2.0 beleuchtet.
