VI. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION
This thesis examines the impact of various nitrogen management practices and organic soil amendments on the growth performance and yield components of kharif sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) under the specific agro-climatic conditions of the Middle Gujarat region. The research aims to identify optimized, sustainable nutrient management techniques that reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers while maximizing crop profitability for local farmers.
3.6.1 Treatment detail
(A) N-management practices: 4 – levels
1. N0 = Control
2. N1 = Nitrogen – 25 kg ha-1
3. N2 = Azospirillum
4. N3 = Nitrogen 50 % of recommended dose + Azospirillum
(B) Organic sources: 3 – levels
1. M1 = Humic acid - 10 kg ha-1
2. M2 = Poultry manure - 500 kg ha-1
3. M3 = Vermicompost - 500 kg ha-1
I. INTRODUCTION: Provides an overview of the significance of sesame as an oilseed crop, its distribution in India and Gujarat, and the rationale for the study.

The research focuses on determining the best nitrogen management practices and organic sources for improving the growth and yield of kharif sesame in Middle Gujarat.
The experiment evaluated Humic acid (10 kg ha-1), Poultry manure (500 kg ha-1), and Vermicompost (500 kg ha-1).
The goal is to provide farmers with evidence-based strategies for achieving higher seed yields and net realization using balanced organic and inorganic nutrient sources.
A field experiment was conducted using a Factorial Randomized Design with twelve treatment combinations replicated four times.
It covers weather influences, nitrogen effects on growth and yield, organic manure impacts, and a comprehensive economic analysis of the treatment results.
The study is characterized by keywords such as nitrogen management, organic amendments (Humic acid, Poultry manure, Vermicompost), yield attributes, and economic viability.
The treatment combination N3M1 (50% RDN + Azospirillum along with Humic acid 10 kg ha-1) recorded the highest seed yield of 580 kg ha-1.
Nitrogen is essential for promoting vegetative growth and synthesizing chlorophyll, which directly influences the plant's yield potential, despite its increasing cost.
The author recommends the application of 50% recommended nitrogen combined with Azospirillum and 10 kg ha-1 of Humic acid to achieve remunerative yields.
