The primary objective of this work is to investigate the "negligence of pre-medical knowledge" within society. By analyzing the thoughts, attitudes, and actual capabilities of students, teachers, and parents regarding emergency first aid, the authors seek to demonstrate that a significant lack of basic life-saving knowledge exists, which negatively impacts outcomes during daily emergencies.
1.1 Overview
"The Negligence”, the title of this book provides an insight of the content and aim of the writing. What is the meaning of negligence? Negligence is an act of neglect or ignorance. The word "negligence" can apply to an individual or to a society as a whole. This writing encompasses the negligence of an entire society. To do so, analysis of the individual factors of the society in study has been carried out.
The focus of this book is to study and analyse the negligence of the society. However, what is this negligence? The negligence focused on this book is that of pre-medical care. The knowledge of pre-medical care is a commonly neglected factor in the daily life of each individual. The opinion of the majority of individuals represents the opinion of the particular society. Hence, the negligence of most individuals is the negligence of that society. Therefore an individual is representative of that society.
Moreover, the secondary title of the book: "The paucity of pre-medical knowledge" also refers to this great negligence. The key of this explanatory title is the word paucity. Paucity can be defined as the lack of or insufficiency of a particular aspect. Being the subtitle of this book, it refers to the insufficiency of pre-medical knowledge as a cause for this negligence. As mentioned, the lack of knowledge in other words ignorance is a cause of negligence.
1. Introduction: This chapter defines the scope of the book, introducing the concept of negligence in relation to pre-medical care and setting the framework for the study.
2. Methodology: This section details the research approach, describing the three investigated grounds (students, teachers, and parents) and the tools used to collect data on their emergency care knowledge.
3. The Depth of Negligence: This chapter presents the research findings, specifically analyzing the public’s understanding of basic human body systems and their preparedness for common injuries.
4. Knowledge of Pre-Medical Care: This chapter outlines core first aid procedures, including primary and secondary surveys, CPR, and wound management, as essential knowledge for everyday emergency situations.
5. Conclusion: This chapter synthesizes the study's results, confirming that insufficient knowledge and widespread negligence regarding pre-medical care are significant societal problems requiring urgent attention.
Pre-medical care, First aid, Negligence, Paucity of knowledge, CPR, Primary survey, Secondary survey, Emergency situations, Public health, Injury management, Human body systems, Survival rates, First responder, Emergency training, Societal awareness
The book explores the societal negligence regarding pre-medical knowledge, arguing that most individuals lack the essential training to handle common daily emergencies.
The book focuses on the "paucity of knowledge," the importance of understanding basic human anatomy for emergency care, and the practical application of first aid techniques like CPR and recovery positioning.
The goal is to demonstrate through an empirical survey that despite the frequency of minor and major injuries, public knowledge of first aid remains dangerously low.
The authors used a descriptive survey-based method, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data from three groups: students, teachers, and parents.
It covers the demographics of the surveyed groups, their understanding of specific body systems, their performance in hypothetical emergency scenarios, and their access to formal training.
Key terms include Pre-medical care, First aid, Negligence, Emergency preparedness, and Public health awareness.
They represent a high-density environment (the school) where accidents are common, making them ideal subjects for testing the depth of pre-medical knowledge negligence.
The book classifies the three pillars of first aid as Preserve (saving life), Prevent (stopping the situation from worsening), and Promote (aiding recovery).
The primary survey (DRSABCD) is identified as the fundamental action protocol required to assess and stabilize a victim immediately after an incident.
