INTRODUCTION
It’s very common to read in newspaper and health magazines that exercise and meaningful life is also of great significance to promote comprehensive mental health. Engaging in physical activity on a regular basis leads to healthy lifestyle and improves overall health status. (Ware, Kosinski & Keller, 1996.) Research reveals that only one third of the population gets involved in exercise program on daily basis. (Dishman, Sallies and Orenstein, 1985). A high quality of life can be preserved by managing physical and mental health (Demura and Sato, 2003). People who have more meaning in life they experience greater wellbeing at all stages of their life. (Steger et al, 2009) According to reports Men’s show more involvement in physical activity than women.(Len Kravitz, 2008) and men’s perceive more meaningful life than women’s (Moksens et al. (2012).Quality of life is not only improved by exercise, it also enhances self-esteem, brings happiness, cognitive effects are also improved (Warburton, Nicol, and Bredin, 2006). People who have purpose in life are greatly associated with meaningful life and they have higher satisfaction in their life’s (cotton bronk et al, 2009). Aerobic exercises are more effective and it is more impactful to improve overall health status of an individual than anaerobic exercise. Exercise plays a very important role in preventing various types of diseases such as type 2 diabetes, reduces the incidence of colon cancer, endometrial cancer, breast cancer and cardiovascular disease (Elmagd, 2016). Meaning ful life has positive effect on mental health too as it reduces anxiety and depression to greater extent. (Dezutter et al., 2014). Individuals who exercise two to three times a week shows lower level of depression than those who do not exercise or rarely exercises. The individuals who has a good overall health status are more satisfied and have perceived meaningful life. (Lumen, 2014). According to study meaning less life is associated with poor quality of life and psychological wellbeing (Brassai, Piko and Steger, 2011). If a person knows his life meaning he will have less mental health problem such as depression (Hedayati et al. 2014). This study aims to identify whether exercise has an impact on meaning ful life.
