The aim of this study was to assess the level of satisfaction with nursing care provided through a post-operative home-visiting program launched by the Palestinian Medical Relief Society during the Great March of Return in Gaza. The study sought to understand the impact of the program on the injured participants and identify factors influencing their satisfaction with the quality of care received.
Chapter One introduces the study's background, focusing on the context of the Great March of Return and the need for post-operative home-visiting services in Gaza. It outlines the research problem, aims, and significance of the study.
Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review on nursing care quality, patient satisfaction, home-visiting programs, and the impact of the Great March of Return on the Palestinian community. It discusses existing theoretical frameworks relevant to the study.
Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including the descriptive, analytical, and cross-sectional design, the sampling technique, data collection tool, data analysis techniques, and ethical considerations.
Chapter Four presents the findings of the study, analyzing the socio-demographic characteristics of participants, their level of satisfaction with nursing care quality, and factors influencing satisfaction. It also includes a detailed discussion of the results.
The goal was to provide post-operative nursing care to individuals injured during the "Great March of Return" in the Gaza Strip.
The researcher used a 17-item Arabic version of the "Patients’ Satisfaction with Nursing Care Quality Questionnaire" with a sample of 294 participants.
It refers to a series of protests in the Gaza Strip where large numbers of Palestinians demonstrated near the border, resulting in many injuries requiring medical care.
Satisfaction is influenced by socio-demographic characteristics, the perceived quality of care, and the frequency of home visits provided by the nurses.
The study recommends expanding the home-based visiting program to reach a higher number of injured individuals and further enhancing the quality of care.
